I don't have carpet anymore and my exhaust heats up the floor like crazy. It's not unreasonably close compared to stock. Any recommendations to fix this?

Go to sites like Summit Racing or Jegs. They have this peel and stick thermo-barrier sheets that race car drivers use to help keep their temps down.

My theory on the relays is that they get hot due to poor grounding. Just a guess.
Thanks!
Ordering one now...

^^ This. Piles of it against the floor in my '99.

Also I hear they don't have rust in GA. Maybe some sheet metal as a heat shield underneath?

Thanks. I had been considering it, but didn't know if I wanted to go that route.

I have seen heat shields under ZJ's.
Any kind of shield above the cat would help a lot. I measured the cat and exhaust with infra red temperature gauge at 440F.

Have you checked to see if your fuel filter is plugged up or the fuel strainer on the fuel pump.

X2 on the filter, if still a no go verify your pump is working. Then physically inspect the entire lengths of your lines to verify there is no pinches or breaks in it. Then disconnect your hard lines from the pump and rail. Try blowing them out to make sure there is no trash stuck on it hindering flow.

Oil shoots up onto the underside of the hood, seemingly when I put the vehicle into reverse.. the oil spot is above the air intake hose which is also covered with oil. it hits the motor which burns it and smoke come out momentarily from under the hood. has this happened to others?
