thanks to both for the tips, i'll look into that tonight after work.
i might try to see if i can fix the old one too, maybe the bearing isn't that bad and just needs to be cleaned/lubed up. i'll report back

Nice! Yeah I pretty much fell in love from the first sneak peak. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I ever got to drive one. My friend's Charger RT was pretty quick and a decent amount of fun, the 2015 Sting Ray I got to drive was crazy fast.... I can't imagine the Hellcat.

OK, got another Q!
Has anyone used a PROGRAMMER like this (are there more than just the Superchips make?)
http://superchips.com/products/f5-je...paq-3874-3874/
Getting 'parts' swapped over on this '92 block to use in my son's '01 xj (with 01 head)
and since we don't have emissions here thought of re-directing my exhaust by a local shop to get the pipes away from the oil pan. And thought that it would give me CEL/ codes
and want to be able to 'tune' with this (and if the aftermarket cam gives me problems also..)
Any knowledge on these? Or any other tuners?
Thanks again. E

Pulled the diff cover off in the process of installing ZJ disk brakes and noticed quite a bit off mushy metal shaving stuff on the magnet. Is this normal? Cause I just had the cover off about 10k miles ago and cleaned the magnet before reinstalling it. I have been noticing a random rough, grinding noise when goin around 45-55 mph. The noise is on and off. I'll just be cruising and all of a sudden there will be a cringing grinding noise. Not sure what was causing it tho. Carrier spins fine and has no play nor does the pinion. So does this look normal? Thanks!

It's normal to have metal particles on the magnet. I would say pretty normal for a 10k mile interval as well... you've gotta figure that's almost a year of driving for some people.
Not sure what your grinding noise is, are you having any driveline vibes?

i have a feeling it might be the pinion bearing like I'm experiencing. the pinion itself doesn't have any play and feels fine, but at some speeds i feel a rumble on deceleration and by removing the driveshafts & doing various tests i'm almost 100% positive it's the pinion bearing, which sucks to replace if that is your issue too

For those of you with a gen 1 and LED dash lights, which bulbs and brightnesses did you use? I know theyre mostly 194's, SuperbrightLED suggests this weird one with the retainer for mine (I know I dont need it since I have the stock ones)
Im mainly trying to decide which lumens/led count to go with. I dont want retard strength brightness, especially if I cant dim them.
