just saw this, well that sucks. I mean, the sound is pretty cringing to hear. It just randomly happens and it's pretty loud. You can almost feel it. I guess it's an excuse to upgrade to the Chrysler 8.25 29 spline. Hehe

So with some google fu, youre right and I can just upgrade and have a tach! Ill have to swap oil and temp senders at some point, but hell I dont care too much.

AND, bonus, before I swap it, I can drop in all the LEDs!

Agree with 93XJeeper. Think they are just rebranded Rugged Ridge. I own the Rugged Ridge ones too. Front, back, and cargo. About 3 years now. Think I got a good deal. $155 shipped and then got a $10 rebate. Do not regret spending the money one bit.

Default Ok popping in front end

I know there are alot of threads on this. So I know the best thing to do is check underneath the front end while someone turns the wheel.

With that being said, it sounds like it is emanating from the steering rack( more toward the firewall). Does that mean that the power steering gear box is the culprit? It only happens at 20mph and below and pops when turning the wheel.
Should I start by changing the worm wheel in the gear box? turn the screw or whatever?
Or should I buy a new power steering gear box? Am i even on the right path?

Im new on here and if anyone is in the southwest Georgia area it'd be really helpful to have someone help diagnose this. Im a new owner.
Thanks Travis

It is possible that the U joint in the steering shaft is the culprit.

Only way to know is to look.

Could honestly be anything. Personal example:
My ex has been driving her WJ with a popping noise each time she changes direction. Couldn't find anything that was moving in the front end. Sounded like it was at the front passenger floorpan.

When it got worse, one day I noticed her axle-side track bar bolt was moving 1/8" back and forth each time. It's been slowly wallowing out that hole, and I couldn't tell it was moving at all when it started.
