Kinda sorta not really. You'll need the correct flex plate for the Renix, and at least the TCU and wiring. Renix used a different TPS for automatic as well. I imagine the ECU is different as well but not totally certain on that.
Also, there are some mechanical differences with how it mates to the transfer case: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1053970

Biggest difference is that the output on the 88 transmission is 21 spline IIRC and the outut on the 93 is 23 spline.

I ask because my friend has an 88 with I believe it's BA10(?) manual transmission that he fears is going out and wants to have a replacement ready, I happen to have a 93 I'm parting out with a functioning AW4.
Thanks you I'll let him know it may not be the best idea.

I dunno for sure, but it might just be easier to find an AX15 and transfer case and swap those in.

Yeah an AX-15 would be a much easier swap with no electronics or driveshaft work required. Transfer case input gear has the same challenge, however.
Home for the weekend and my dad recharged the ac on my jeep. Noticed a loud groaning noise when turning the AC or heat on. Rechecked the system and noted that it was slightly overcharged. Nothing near the serious overfill on the gauge, just slightly outside of range. Released some pressure on the system (shame on me) and was getting a ton of just air out. Pressure now reads well within normal but I am still getting the groaning noise, not as bad but definitely still present. Any guesses as to what the issue is?

You're still a little overcharged. Probably the best thing to do is take the Jeep to a shop to have it evacuated and recharged with the proper amount of refrigerant by weight. Otherwise you're just guessing at how much is actually in there.

Yep! Thats pretty much exactly it. Thanks for the help everyone. Consensus between my dad and I is that it is overfilled. Will have to take it in to be properly done.

Honestly though, if you were to just go ahead and upgrade the trans and transfer case to something 91+, you'll then have that 23 spline output/input setup and from there, it's much easier to find a replacement once something fails.

I changed my steering gear box with a remanufactired one from pep boys. I also have a new ps pump and serp belt. After installing the gear box i bled the system and then drove around the block. First few corners went fine then all a sudden the power steering just stopped. I noticed if i accelerate it works but if i let off the gas it stops. Could my new pump be bad? I spent at least two hours after that happened bleeding the system some more and it did have more air. Please help. Thanks
