Can anyone help me out?

Ok so I have gas in the oil, the engine is not burning oil. And people keep telling me it's the injectors. But I've read that a symptom of leaking injectors is hard starts. And mine starts no problem every single time. So I ruled this out. But now every time I start the jeep the exhaust smells like gas until it warms up. Making me think it's the injectors again... any thoughts?

 

If you have gas in the oil, its usally either a leaking injector causing what they call blowby/ring wash (where excess fuel seeps past the piston rings) or worn out piston rings. How's the compression?

 

Haven't checked compression, if it was a worn ring I'd imagine it would burn oil?

 

All engines burn oil. The question is whether it's enough for you to notice it.

You need to do two things:

- Run a compression test
- Pull the injectors and see if they leak

Additionally many short trips without letting the engine heat up can result in fuel dilution of the oil because it doesn't get a change to evaporate.

 

Yah that's exactly my driving style only drive it in 2mile intervals but try ho do a 30min/mile drive once a week in order to evaporate some of that. Guess I'll do the compression and leak test to continue to narrow it down.

 

So, the spot where my flasher relay goes, there is no relay, or contacts For a relay...
Only problem is, i don't know what to ask...
Are there any other places where it could possibly be?
Is it possible to Not have one?

Hey Salad or Cruiser. By chance due you have the wiring diagram for the delayed headlights relay. Im curious if i can run a line to my reverse lights so they stay on after the jeep is off for 10 seconds?

 

That's a cool idea. But I'm stuck in Renix mode.

 

Lol. I figured id splice a wire in at the NSS connection and maybe do a diode or something to prevent backfeed. Just a theory right now. Not sure if the relay can be overloaded but i am running the LED bulbs at least. See this is what i do while i temporarily live in a house with no cable

I have oil leaking somewhere alone the passenger side of the engine around the head/block. I don't believe it's the adapter since it goes above that.I have no oil/coolant mix or heat issues so I don't think it's a head gasket or odd color oil. My question is would a leaking distributor cap cause a good oil leak to sort or cover the middle part of the block and anything below it? Since driving 3,000 miles from my last oil change I'm at the middle mark between full and add. Any help or thoughts would be very helpful.
