So I've got a problem with my 98 XJ, I was lifting the rear yesterday and on the passenger side leaf spring the front bolt will not tighten up. It seems like it pushed/ broke the nut away from unibody. What or how could I fix this?

Did it go all the way in, no pun intended, or is some of the shift showing and it just spins. Chances are the bolt may not be lined up right and your just stripping it

I had pushed the bolt in and tried to tighten it up. I could stick my finger in the unibody far enough to feel the bolt and it felt like the nut was just spinning.

Yes. Occasionally I can, too. In the catalytic converter's case that's usually a sign that it's clogging up. If your cat is original think about a high-flow replacement. www.performance-curve.com has them for ridiculously cheap (Thunderbolt Spin Cat) and is a forum member.
Good thing you finally told us what the smell is
It's pretty far away

I have not done it myself but what iv read is those are E12 or E13 socket and you need about 2-3' of extensions to get in there. Somebody else may chime in to clarify with experience thoughn

It's pretty far awayDo you know if there is a spot for the O2 sensor on this one? Would I have to modify it?
