I would try some kind of paint stripper like goo gone or something. If nothing else I'm sure a JY has one.

Will it? Yes, but to do good vents I'd rather use an angle grinder or jigsaw.

Would somebody mind taking a measurement and a picture for me?

Stock height XJ

Measurement from the bottom of the oil pan to the top of the axle tube
- How much vertical clearance is there?
- Does the oil pan hang completely over the axle, or does it only partially cover it?

Picture from in front of the right front tire, looking at that area between pan and axle

Thanks in advance if anyone can oblige

use a plastic paint. i did my armrest without issue. dunno about matching the paint?? i guess just use a low luster finish like satin or flat.. as for dremel, i think thats asking a lot.. cut off tool would be better. i guess if you started and it didn't work, you could just go to first shop you come across and have them finish it?

Works for me if it isn't too much trouble.

If you used 2" spacers, I could subtract. Would you mind?

Ok.. With 2" spacers, the gap seems to be 6.25" as for the pic from In front of right tire, you mean drivers side? Cause that's what I got.. The pic with my hand is where back of axle tube would hit if it came straight up.. Here are pics..

Another measurement wouldn't hurt so I can average them.

is it possible to rip all the interior of a jeep out to begin the floor fixing/bed lining but replace the driver seat so you can still daily drive it?

Dont see why not, as long as the seat is secure and you have a seatbelt you should be fine

So none of the seat is tied into the interior? Just bolts to the floor?
