thanks man, I'm getting it finished up now

I read somewhere that there are 2 types of 746's and the 155-746 is the one you dont want due to the resistance or something like that is higher. I believe DFlintstone was the one discussing this in a prior thread.

Does this leak seem to mean iv got a bad head gasket? I degrease the motor like once a month. As you can see its dry above the spark plugs so its not the valve cover.

Sorry if the pics are sideways. Im on the phone app.

99 w/ 4.0, 179k.
would a crack in exhaust manifold cause it to hesitate and backfire (from manifold are) at high rpm with WOT? I've had this jeep a while, its always had the diesel chug, but now even after i gave her a full tune up, it will struggle thru the last 1000-1500 RPM before shifting. it doesn't seem to be 100% of the time, which makes me wonder about it really being the exhaust manifold.. idk.. this is frustrating :/

I have a 92 4.0 that I've replaced the nss on twice just this year, I bought the 30$ eBay one both times which I realize May be the source of the problem, anyways I'm having this new symptom where first of all I have reverse lights maybe 1/10 times I put it in reverse, and when starting I have to just hold the ignition for usually about 15 seconds and then it will miraculously turn over perfectly and start right up.
I've just gotten used to it because it is reliable just takes awhile to start, but last night I had to occasions where it took a good 3 mins so wondering if you guys could share some wisdom

From what I have read on the NSS is that the cheaper ones dont work very well. Some even list "W/ Reverse light" and without. So some dont even activate the reverse lights. If I were you I'd find a good one at a junk yard and swap it in.

Total newb question. After removing the trim pieces how does one pull the whole foam head liner out? Does it just pop out?

It could very well mean that either your head is warped (not likely) or the head gasket is blown.

1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L AW4

So i turn the key and hear a click. I go knock on the starter and try the key again and it cranks but without much power. So I've decided to replace the starter. Are there any ones/brands to watch out for?
I am looking at this one as of now...

Also, I just pulled the old starter and when i shake it in my hand i can feel something clanking around in there. Not a bunch but something is loose. Is this normal?

Also remove the dome lights, rear mirror and overhead console. The headliner will then fall. It is not glued or screwed.
