XJ Ask the Question Thread
I run hard all the time so my "2 cents" is to go with the good mounts and remember to check often as the Cherokee is known for breaking the "motor mount boss" off the block when loose or damaged..Its one of those "you get what you pay for" things...but if you are a "grocery store only" 4 wheeler, then Rock Auto is fine...just remembering to have them checked every tune-up cycle..Off topic but relevant, look for the "RSS" feeds on Rock Auto under your vechicle heading....will bring up a list of all currently "going out of stock" parts for your vechicle..very good deals!!!
First just swap the sensor wires at pump and see if the guage starts working right..if not... pull pump and check out with OHM meter..sensor works on "increasing resistance " through-out it's range of travel..so the reading should be easy to understand..check for bad solder connections..and obvious "breaks"..also good idea at this point to "ground" the guage harness wire and look for "full tank" reading..that rules out other gremlins up the line..they want you to buy the whole assembly $$$ (corperate BS) but if you hunt around a little on the "net" most of the component parts are available and your repair will cost a fraction of the "unit price"
I'm planning to install a Transmission cooler. The one I have has a fan mounted to it.
A while back I installed a cowl cold air system and removed the stock air box. Can anyone think of any reason I shouldn't mount my trans cooler where the air box was?

Is it just a small electric fan? Can you post a picture? I would still want to mount it where the most air flow is possible to help it maintain max efficiency.

Engine bay air in an XJ can be as much as 100*F hotter than the ambient temp. In the summer, much of the U.S. could be pushing close to 200*F under the hood, and ATF starts breaking down at 185*F.
You want that fluid outside.
My NAPA pump is so loud sometimes you can't hear the radio..LOL..They won't warranty noise and told me that until it stops working they won't give me another...With my luck it. will die up in the Blue Ridge..So I always carry a spare pump..

Okay guys I gotta lot to say, so my jeep (just purchased) will start but it's hesitant (you have to feather the gas) it idles fine. Once you tap the gas it will NOT tach past 1500 rpms and sputters and backfires. I replaced the plugs, ignition pick up, fuel filter, and replaced my cat. I'm stumped any help is appreciated.
