So I pulled my fuel pump yesterday before work checked rubber hose and replaced it but still no luck on getting it to start. Could it possibly be the fuel pressure regulator? If so how can I test it

96 xj no start no spark. Replaced CPS and still nothing. I pulled the ignition coil yesterday and ran tests on it. Can anyone tell me what I am looking for when I pull the coil? Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Steps taken
-Fuses and relays checked and looked good
-CPS replaced with no luck
I'll refresh my ground but I do not think this is my issue as the xj does crank.
I'll also review the no start thread that is floating around here somewhere.

Only way to fix whatever it is is to cut out the **** and solder in new wires. No buttsplices. Don't forget the heatshrink.
Looks sort of like where someone spliced in a trailing light harness. Am I close?

I thought trailer harness too because a friend told me to hook my wires up in that same area.
Should I just remove those connectors that are all melted?
This whole ordeal is keeping my rear brake light from turning off so I have to unplug the battery everywhere I go.
