You're gonna love this!!
The only way you're gonna find what you're looking for is to GO LOOK!
Around the Jeep that is. In these parts, we call it "noggin pokin".
That's where you use your God given senses to inspect YOUR Jeep for problems. We can only provide you with guidance as to where to poke your noggin.
There's no Silver Bullet cure you're gonna find from a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
You're not a mean drunk I hope!! LOL.

Would this 136 amp Bosch alternator fit my 1995 XJ as the upgrade to the oem 90 amp alternator. It says this one is a stock replacement for a 1998 5.2L Grand Cherokee. I know that I will have to do upgrades on the wiring as well and I am also aware that I will also need to turn the fitting around on the back of this one as well as grind the bracket to get a good fit but I was just making sure this was the right alternator I needed for this upgrade

My plan is to do ball joints, axle u-joints, and wheel bearings before I install my pretty new 35s. I'm nervous about driving the Jeep in this condition, though, because I'm not sure about this newest problem.

no need to welcome me, i feel like im at home already here, but ill give you a general rundown
i got this jeep from some people in cali (i live in MA) so its virtually rust free, it runs fine never had any problems, got it at 150k and its a 93
I do fear though it might be overheating, the situation is im moving to MD in a few days...the 17th and its a 500 mile trip. the previous owner wasnt too much of a car guy (he wired the radio wrong, blew that speakers list goes on and on) but he yanked out the old temp. sending unit and replaced it with one with an open head that a wire bolts directly into. he butt spliced the wire 3 times with the improper gauge wire and hooked it up to an aftermarket gauge, so it always read 150. i wasnt surprised when i found this assuming it came from cali i though "dessert jeeps need to run cooler" and ran with it for a while, recently i opened the hood after a good drive and it felt like i opened an oven, heat dumping out, no steam though but it was a frigid 25 out and i was sweating opening it. i have flushed the coolant before so there is no blockage (to my knowledge) the water pump works fine and the thermostat i just replaced BUT i went to replace the crappy gauge wire and when i hooked it back up with the proper wire my coolant temp was 230. so i tried replacing the unit itself and SNAPPED OFF THE UNIT inside the engine block, now i have no idea if im overheating or not. so what do you think? when i open the hood should i be feeling like im opening an oven and this is normal? thoughts?
sorry its a long post

I'm guessing the sending unit for the aftermarket gauge is/WAS not compatible with your gauge.
I have AAA and my friend suggested that I call them for help as the car was struck and could not move. They gave me a great price to fix the car in my driveway to replace the lock.

No i dont have access to one unless advanced offers to rent them (yeah right) i saw on the forum you point them at the thermostat housing unit and get the temp, i can do much more when im in MD but right now im kinda stuck and im just taking precautions as to will my jeep explode before i even make it there? (no jeeps dont die! lol) its just the sending unit i need is 40$ and wont be delivered to the store on time before i leave. The previous owner also yanked out the stock plug for the sending unit, so i have this bare sliver of wire exposed where it used to be, id love everything to just go back to stock but i simply dont have the time right now. i was contemplating taking out the thermostat to try and increase cooling efficiency but my dad said (im 19 and hes not the greatest with vehicles but he knows his way around one) that it wasn't an "ideal" option because "the vehicle wont be running at it optimal temperature for best performance

The connector is nothing real special. Nothing you couldn't splice into the factory wire to get things working. Solder and shrink tubing of course.

Cole, we'll take care of you once you get to MD. This problem is urgent, but don't worry about future problems. We have a good crew here.
