Hey guys, I recently got a 2000 cherokee sport 4.0L automatic. I went and changed all fluids and replaced my spark plugs with NGK Copper and gapped them to .035. Now my Jeep is having a hard time starting up. When cold, it takes about 3-6 times to start up and i have to give it a little gas to get going as well. Should i switch back to the champion plugs that where in it with i got it? btw it has just under 35,000 miles on it. Thanks in advance.

Problems getting the coil rail back in, or off for that matter?
Nope, didnt throw a code and the coil pack came off fine and went back on fine. Thats actually was the first thing I checked once it started acting up on me. I even took them off and re put them back on just to make sure everything was lining up properly. Once it does start up it runs like a champ, but its just not starting up like it should, im having to give it gas to get it to turn all the way over.

No one has an answer still? Would this 136 amp Bosch alternator fit my 1995 XJ as the upgrade to the oem 90 amp alternator. It says this one is a stock replacement for a 1998 5.2L Grand Cherokee. I know that I will have to do upgrades on the wiring as well and I am also aware that I will also need to turn the fitting around on the back of this one as well as grind the bracket to get a good fit but I was just making sure this was the right alternator I needed for this upgrade

Hi guys,
Im the FNG here. I hope to contribute where I can. just had a question that may be a common one.
I just bought my third XJ and the previous 2 I've had needed the oil pumps replaced (I did and sold them due to moving overseas). My current one (99 with a 4.0) runs well and I've been fixing little issues here and there.
I went wheeling for the first time this weekend and noticed an issue with oil pressure. Normally it stays around 40psi at any given time. However with the excess strain of going offroad at slow speeds, it started dropping to around 20psi at idle, 30 at higher speeds. The lifters started to get a little noisy as well. After it cools off and I drive it normally on the street, the pressure is fine.
What do you guys think? Another oil pump? I know Im being lazy, but I don't want to change a third.
Thanks in advance

Why do you keep changing oil pumps?
What oil is and oil filter does the Jeep have now?
It might not be entirely the oil.. What about engine temps when it's doing this? Could be a mild predetonation issue adding to it. Do you have any intake mods? What is mileage of XJ? (On app, so can't reference.)
I had to change the last two as one failed due to age (240K miles) and the other wore out.
My oil is Castrol 10-40w and Im using a K&N oil filter
I should note Im in a warm climate (Hawaii) which is why I used the thicker oil.
