8+" is too high for a DD in my opinion.

You're going about this backward. Figure out what you're size you want, and plan backward to see how much lift you need.

That's a misconception. Lifts increase the distance between your axle and "frame", allowing you to run larger tires, and gain articulation. Changing tire sizes only adds ground to diff clearance.

If I ran no lift and 35's my jeep would be taller, but only because I increased the ground clearance.

3.5-4 seems good to me. Might be a slight pain with the coil spring but I feel it better to switch it anyway

Doesn't seem to phase some people who think they need 10" lift to clear 33s.

Dedicated mud boggers and rigs that never see street or trails are both exempt.

So I just puta RE 4.5 in superflex in my xj, I'm running 33x12.5 BFG A/T, I now need to get an alignment. Do any of you know if a local chain like Firestone or something will do an alignment on a lifted rig? Or should I just take the time and do it myself?

88 4x4 4.0 XJ

-Rough idle
-random rought throttle responses off green light/stop signs
-Runs smooth while accelerating after initial start to roll.
-Sometimes it almost dies when I let off the brake and give it moderate gas off a light, it will bog down for a split second like it died then take off as normal operation.

Heres what iv done in past 1000 miles with this issue not resolving it:

-New IAC.
-New adjusted TPS.
-Throttle set screw adjusted awhile back before this issue.
-New cap rotor plugs wires.
-Seafoam and Rena premium gas.
-Adjusted Transmission kickdown cable thing.

I was thinking possible map, oxygen sensor or cps. But I dont want to just throw $150 in sensors at it if I dont have to. Where should I start?

Ok its starting to get hot out here and the Jeep is running a little warm. Cam I run a 180° for the summer to keep it running cooler? It's already got a new radiator thermostat and water pump

That will not make it run cooler. If your rig is running warm than there is likely another reason. Fan clutch, clogged radiator, waterpump blades, etc.
The ZJ fan clutch is what made the difference for me, after I replaced the entire cooling system.

If it overheats below 15mph, it's probably your fan clutch. If it overheats above 15mph, it's either your water pump, loss of pressure, or a blockage somewhere. If it overheats at all speeds, you have multiple problems.

Remember I can't run a ZJ fan clutch cause I have a 3 core radiator.
