Thanks for input!
'78 was the last year of the 6.6L 401. Might be getting numbers for the wrong '78 motor.

Well that sounds easy. I can't find a code for 124 though.

The name is a little misleading: This forum is geared towards the 1984-2001 XJ. You'll find some old-timers here that know what you mean but otherwise these guys would be who you need: http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/

OBD-I codes are all two-digit:

12: start/battery was disconnected recently
41: Open or Short in generator control
21: Upstream O2 problem
55: END OF LINE

Same horsepower. Different way of measuring it.

Perfect thanks. I'll look into those even though I haven't disconnected my battery within the last 50 cycles and I've replaced my 02 sensor within the past year...back to the drawing board.

OK how should I drain the ATF+4 out of the transmission? Drive for a few miles then drain it out and fill with dex/merc and drive another few miles. Drain again and fill with Dex/Merc. Is 5 quarts enough to accomplish this?

Talked to my buddy and he says I may need to change the AT filter again because it soaked up the ATF+4, is this correct? Also how do i get the fluid oyt of the torque converter? I'm just going to wait to change the fluid at school using the machine they have there.
