What board are you referring to? The door locks not working is because of the electrical problems. Its possible I may have tugged on wire harnesses too hard. I'm certain I plugged all the connectors back together.

 

Two thing. My neighbors 98 xj was hooked up backwards when jumped now wont start. They've checked the fuses and relays but the fuel pump isn't kicking on... Is it possible a wire is burnt or the pump is out?
Two my 97 xj my steering box has a pop to it. Should I replace it or does it need adjusted ? Thanx

 

Steering box pop probably means your factory spacer broke. Common problem. Get a replacement from C-Rok or the like, and consider upgrading to a '98/99 V8 Durango (without plow) steering box while you're at it.

 

I need some transmission mount advice. I just ordered some brown dog poly motor mounts and I figured I should replace the tranny mount too, but I can't seem to find a poly version for my 2.5. Should I stick with the factory rubber mount?

 

Rubber is fine. It'll probably last as long as you own the Jeep.

 

What is a good rubber bushing vendor? I have these tubular lower control arms I bought on the cheap, but I'd like to replace the poly bushings with rubber if possible. I want to keep a good ride but make my front end stronger with it and avoid poly stuff. I can take measurements with a micrometer, just need to know where to send them. Looking for good quality stuff, not really wheeling hard.

 

So I took out my ac, I took out my condenser and unscrewed the lines from the firewall to the compressor and evaporator. I just took out the entire evaporator and all the lines and condenser basically. I accidentally broke some of the little plastic vacuum ball lines as well. I went to try to start my jeep and everything is normal such as lights and I hear the fuel pump priming, but when I got to turn it over it just hums from the fuel pump and nothing else? Ideas anyone?

 

Does the starter engage? And start turning over the engine?

If not there's a few things I would start with:

Battery connections to-from starter
Shifter is in park, try starting in neutral.
Smack starter with hammer then attempt again.

You had to have bumped a wire or something if the jeep was fine before you messed with the AC stuff.

 

Starter doesn't even engage, I must have pulled a wire, I'll re check everything and report back

You got it man accidentally unplugged little wire that goes to the starter relay?? Idk but I plugged it in and it worked

 

Ok, a little freaked out right now. Found a few milky oil spots on the driveway today. Checked the oil on the dipstick and filler hole and it all looked perfectly fine. Coolant looked healthy too. I checked all the same things on my wife's Pontiac and it all looks fine. It's also been raining a lot today.

My question is; did the rain just mix with old oil stains in the concrete, or should I be worried?

It has now snowed quite a bit around here and a couple days ago I slipped and hit the sidewalk going maybe 20-30mph. It hit quite hard but I couldn't see any damage from the outside. After backing up and starting to drive again, I noticed that when I was breaking, it was a lit more firm and it felt like it was braking more from the driver's side (it's the passenger side's wheel that hit the sidewalk).

Also, when going maybe 50-60mph, I get a slight vibe in what seems to be the passenger side's wheel. I don't feel anything on the steering though, nothing like the death wobble.

I'm gonna go get my oil changed soon and I'll ask the guy if he can check it out (because of the weather I can't do it myself), but does anyone have any idea what it sounds like / could be? ujoint/break lines?

Have him put the jeep on the lift and use a pry bar and check the balljoints
