Haven't you ever had a door do this too you. When you hit the unlock button do you even hear the actuator at all. Lithium grease helps some. Yea that's suppose to be "open" then latches aroun strike pin on jeep to keep it locked.

Move it out so the face is facing the latch pin. So.. pull down? Just pull in the opposite direction as it is now. And put some damn wd40 in there after you're done.

No no slamming. Ugh lol. When you press the unlock button, do you hear the actuator making noise. Like its tryin to open. Normally when those get close like that, opening the handle opens that piece.
