I figure if I get in an accident it'll be my health insurance paying my medical bills not my car insurance...

Forgive my ignorance, never dealt w/ insurance before.
You think your health insurance will cover you if you go around disabling safety features? lol

Yet if I get injured because of the airbag everything is fine and dandy...

Sigh

I can't speak on behalf of your insurance company, but ^that's^ what I would expect. If you were injured, my first response (if I were an insurance company) would be that it was your fault for removing the airbag. Your health insurance may or may not cover it, depending on your policy. I have no experience in that department cause the army refuses to give real medical care under any circumstance.

Thanks! I guess I'll just keep the airbag and pray it doesn't blow up in my face.

Yes. It's a checkbox on a form.

I'd suggest at least figuring out how to kill it when off road. I agree with NewKindOfClown, I don't trust 1st gen *anything*

From the limited research I've done they aren't really able to be disabled. There's supposedly an arming screw on the top of the bag that can be backed off in order to disarm it but apparently it's not 100%

Edit: this post contains a lot of "unsure" words

Disable the airbag sensors will do it with two plugs. There should be three sensors one in front and one on either side. Look in maintainance book for positions of sensors.

You only have to disconnect two. Because the sytem needs two to arm at once. You technically only need one disconnected (the front one) because the system needs the front and one side sensor to activate it.

Do anyone know how many amps the putco harness draws from the battery?

None. It's the lights that draw the current.

That's a smartass answer, isn't it?

20 amp fuses will be fine. I read your mind, didn't I?

Haha. Rampage h4 headlights.

There's two hot leads on the harness, one for high and one for low, u are saying both of them use 20 amp?
