VTEC kicked in yo!
Actually it looks like a case of rednecks will be rednecks. Most "mud trucks" (and certainly fenderless XJs) are not in good physical shape. It appears that the rear end got stuck and when pulled (on the front axle it looks like...) it ripped apart.
Actually, the relays in the harness draw about 300 mA
You need to fuse for the maximum draw of both headlights. One is for low beam, the other is for high beams. Stock type replacements are 55 watts low beam and 65 watts high beam. On low beam the two lamps will draw 7.9A at 14V (alternator on) or 9.2A at 12V (alternator off). High beams 9.3A @ 14V or 10.9A @ 12V. Obviously a 10A fuse is not enough for high beams off of just the battery.
I don't know what the specs on your lamps are and I'm too lazy to look it up. Do the math! Amps = Watts / Volts. Suffice to say that the Putco's wiring is probably not going to burn up at 20A, but it's good to check versus your actual bulbs.
Mr. Green Jeans, he came with it. Wife's is Auberjeans, a play on "Jeans" and "aubergine", which she plans to paint it. There are a couple of XJ Name threads around here somewhere.

Disable the airbag sensors will do it with two plugs. There should be three sensors one in front and one on either side. Look in maintainance book for positions of sensors.
You only have to disconnect two. Because the sytem needs two to arm at once. You technically only need one disconnected (the front one) because the system needs the front and one side sensor to activate it.

Now since y'all answered my question about the harness, how about someone answering my question about the head gasket kit?

Is this a good kit to replace the head gasket on my 01 xj? It even includes head bolts, and from what I know, someone already replaced the head gasket 50 k miles ago, so I wouldn't want to re use it again. Or should I go with a mopar gasket kit? http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=261276104106

Looks like a comp cut on the rear. I'm thinking rusted unibody rails + comp cut - bracing = weak body

Anybody with a 95+ XJ with airbags... What do you do about them while off-road? I know 95s and 96s have self contained mechanical units and quite frankly they scare the **** out of me... I've even considered swapping out the wheel for an older style or aftermarket one since I'm the only driver of the vehicle ever.

According to the 1996 owners manual "The Crash Sensor/Inflator assembly is located in the steering wheel at the back of the airbag module. The crash sensor provides verification of the direction and severity of the impact. When the sensor detects an impact requiring airbag, it inflates....
....the ignition does not have to be on for the airbag to deploy."
Hello everyone, today I removed the trim along the doors of my jeep and noticed the PO attempted to spray paint them at some paint and had some overspray. So I used some denatured alcohol and it came off very easy, I would check the rag every so often to make sure there's no white paint, and fortunately it was black. The vehicles paint as a whole isn't to great, I don't think it's was washed/waxed in a good year or more, and there is little yellow looking specks all over. As I was rubbing some of the rougher spots out of curiousity with the denatured the paint was start to look better and better.
Sorry for the long intro, but my question would is How safe would it be for me to wipe down the entire vehicle with denatured?

There is a way to disarm it from the steering wheel. A bolt on top of the wheel is screwed out. Don't know if it's just for service or for driving. Here are instructions..
