I'm planning on stroking a 99 4.0 I picked up for $100. My question is while recipes call for an AMC 258 crankshaft, wikipedia says the AMC 258 is the same thing as a Jeep 4.2L. Is that the case?

Last night while driving home my high beam indicator light began pulsing/flashing on and off. I flipped them on and back off and the problem persisted. When I got home I tried it again and the low beams stayed on so I flipped the switch again and the both went off. Shut my headlight switch off then back on and the problems still persisted.....headlight switch? I have an aftermarket headlight harness upgrade but high and low beams run on separate relays so I think the problem is from vehicle side

The multifunction switch in the steering column is where I'd start, unless you previously ran high wattage bulbs before installing the headlight switch, the implication being that some melting may previously have occurred.
It may be worth swapping the relays between the two, just for fun.

I'm going to drive it tonight and if/when it happens I'm going to pull over and feel the headlight switch for heat. If its cool I'll swap my spare xj column in this weekend (my return function on my left blinker doesn't work so that will fix that too) since I know everything on it functions correctly
Hey guys. I want to do a auto to manual swap on my jeep, my jeep is a 88 limited with a aw4. I want to put in a ax15 out of a 94 ( both Cherokees are still running jeeps ) Will I have any issues with the 88s computer being originally an automatic, or will I be fine to swap it in ?

Google aw4 to ax15 pdf and there's a whole write-up.
If you don't have one, the engine will idle high and throw 3 codes.
