Lifetime Warranty. You spend YOUR lifetime replacing that crap over and over again.

Ok I will have him get a mopar one. I got mine for my xj from napa with no issues for two plus years now. if the new cps doesnt work what else would cause the coil not spark. also tested the plug on the jeep side while cranking and got nothing on the testor. all the guages work inside an no code.

With a solid signal from the CPS, the PCM grounds out the ASD relay. The ASD relay then provides power to a fuse in the PDC that provides power to the engine harness. At the harness the wire is spliced and feeds both the injectors and the coil.

After a small underwater adventure in the jeep I need to cut out the carpet this weekend. Can anyone think of any wires underneath the carpet anywhere? I have a 99 sport.

Yes, there's a ground wire at the front of the passenger seat, wire to the parking brake handle, a harness for the airbag control module under the driver's seat, and wiring for the evap or fuel pump that lives right under the rear driver's seat.

My advice to you is don't just hack at the carpet, start at the back removing the trim and pull it up. Cut away excess as you go. You don't need to remove ALL of the trim, just enough to get started. This would be the plastic bridge by the hatch.

I started at the tops of the footwells in the MJ, but I haven't done an XJ. Your way may be easier.

Default Check gauges

Check gauges light shows up.

The Battery gauge is maxed out (19+). I put XJ in neutral and turn ignition to off and then back on. The gauge reads normal. Also, when I play my after market radio for 10 min. or longer (while driving), the radio loses power and turns off/on. Could this be early signs of a faulty alternator?
Thanks

Check system voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running and not. The in-dash gauge is known for problems with voltage reading on account of poor grounds. You may just have a loose wire and a bad radio... or two loose wires.
