So today I took off my drenched carpet and found some unwelcome rust. I know how to take care of all of that, but I do have 2 questions.
1.

I have some areas like this where the metal is just pitted, should I cut these out and replace the pieces?
2. I've read so many threads about bed lining an XJ that I can barely think straight. So I know that I'm going to bed line it, I'd like to not put the carpet back on but there's these wires

(The 2 large bundles) that would really annoy me just being uncovered. So how have people relocated/hid these wires? Could I just cover the front foot wells with a large rubber floor mat and screw it down to cover of the wires?

Def entertaining the thought of this system. Anyone got any experience with this set up?

Also another question..
I was going up steep incline yesterday and before I did, I put the trans in third and while going up. I noticed it shifted in overdrive, I tapped the brake enough to unlock the TC and it went in third but few seconds later, it went back in overdrive. Is it not normal?

No. It actually goes in overdrive cause the rpms went down and it bogged, then I tapped the brake and the rpms went up and shifted into third and 5 seconds later, it went back nj overdrive

Hmmm, ok now im curious. Im not sure but i hope someone chimes in. Question, at what RPMs does this happen at. Over 3k. I wonder if its changing due to the pcm forcing it. Have you adjust the TV cable lately.
Yeah I adjusted the tv cable yesterday I ll try again when I go back home after work. (The steep incline is on one of routes back home)
Around 2,600 rpms it ll shift into overdrive and it ll go down to 1,300-1,500 and the jeep ll feel like it's bogging down, then I ll lightly tap the brake pedal enough to turn on the light and it ll unlock the convertor and it ll go back up to 2,400-ish rpms and jeep ll go up better. It does every 5 seconds then going back to overdrive and I ll have to do it all over again.
I thought by placing the lever into 3 position would force the transmission to stay in third gear?
