Do you have a fog lamp switch in your switch panel now or are you thinking about getting one to install in the panel? In any case, here's the 99 wiring diagram for the fog lamp switch. Here's a photo of the back side of my spare switch panel from a 99 XJ that doesn't have a fog lamp switch but it does/did have the fog lamp switch connector docked in the spot where a fog lamp switch would be. The wire color codes match the wiring diagram. Not shown in the diagram but pin 1 is the Orange wire from the dash lighting circuit and pin 4 is the Black wire for ground at G107 (behind the glove box). If you are interested, you can see if your XJ has the connector in this spot. Maybe you could use the ciruit.

Ever do this?
Transfer Case Linkage Adjustment
Straight from the FSM:
SHIFT LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT
(1) Shift transfer case into 4L position. (make sure your shifter is fully in the 4L position)
(2) Raise vehicle.
(3) Loosen lock bolt on adjusting trunnion (Fig.
87).
(4) Be sure linkage rod slides freely in trunnion.
Clean rod and apply spray lube if necessary.
(5) Verify that transfer case range lever is fully
engaged in 4L position. (you can do this under the vehicle at the transfer case)
(6) Tighten adjusting trunnion lock bolt.
(7) Lower vehicle

Do you have a thread or any info on your swap? I'm anticipating doing this in the next couple of years and am VERY interested in anything you have to share!!!

Why? Does this have something to do with how you run a woman's transmission in a Barbie Jeep?
I imagine it's the inverse of lifting... fix your angles, trim where tires rub, and bumpstop appropriately; where "appropriate bumpstopping" means oil pan, not just tires and shocks.
Nonsense. This site has 90000 threads asking about diesel swaps and nobody ever does one. Over on 4btswaps.com the OM617 into XJ/MJ platform material is pretty light.

1st, dont buy a pulled motor or a car with one that doesnt run right. rebuilding these motors is costly [usually if its got bad compression usually the pistons need replaced, and those are $300 a piece].
the adapters for almost all jeep transmissions are available through mercedesdiesel4x4.com. theyt also build motor mounts and shaved pans so that the pan can clear the axle.
im using a NSG370 so i have more range, but an AX15 will work fine as well.
heres my thread. i have the car and now all i have to do is get the parts for the swap.

Is there enough adjustment on the bumper brackets(97+) to use JCR's tie in plates in combination with factory tow hooks? I'll either be doing that or getting an OR-Fab front bumper.
