i have put 2k on the clock and have come up wih a few problems.
1)heat doesnt work hardly at all, as well as my hvac controls
2)none of the windows roll down on the pass side switches but can be rolled down on the DS
3) have a low rumble at 30 to 40 MPH and have ATs on it right now with the same sound, as well as what sounds like something rubbing against the PS brake rotor cover.

the heat problem could be a heater core problem, could be clogged or leaking, and the hvac controls might be a vacuum leak, check all your vac lines when its running to see if you hear a hissing sound, and as for the windows, well welcome to jeephood haha, that is a very common problem with the later model jeeps, i think the wiring harness for the switch shorts out

check the metal shield behind the brake rotor, they are thin metal and tend to bend easily if something like a stick or a rock hits them, and it might be rubbing the brake rotor

I am having a problem with my hvac also, if every vacuum line checks out and is hissing, what else do I check that makes the defrost the only vent that works?
Thanks in advance.

An update since I haven't been here for a while. The head gasket has since blown twice, the squeek was my t case as it blew up on me, and the motor also leaks oil almost as fast as you pore it in. The body is in good shape so I'm not going to scrap it, I'm leaving here in a few months so I'm just going to hold off on any fixing till I get home.

i used a pre existing sketchup cherokee to come up with this-
this is my first real dive into CAD, so dont mind the bugs.
heres the list of what would be done-
-Chopped top
-welded shut rear doors
-Roll bar connected to rear bumper, rock sliders, and tubing fender flairs
-use of frame rails as bumper core, tubing outer
the bed portion is just under 6 feet [im pretty sure its to scale as many of the measurements matched up to real life.]
and if you would like a copy of my model, just pm me. the software is free, and once you get a few hours in you get the hang of it.
heres a link to the original model:

DONOR CAR IS HERE.
1984 300CD. body has a quite a bit of rot, and restoring this car would cost much more than its worth, so i dont feel bad about scrapping it. but first, winter is apon us, and i need a beater for the winter, so the swap wont happen till spring/summer, but now that i have the motor, everything else can be bought for the swap.

decided to go with the NSG370 due to more gear range for the diesel
-have motor
need transmission, adapter plate, clutch assembly.
im going to pep up the OM617 by replacing the T3 with a Holset HW30, as well as mount an intercooler.

Funny that you're using an NSG370. You have to appreciate that to mate two Mercedes products together you're using an adapter made for an Aisin-Warner box in a Chrysler application
Got any lines on the transmission? The "close ratio" looks nice to keep it in the power band. The overdrive sucks compared to an AX-15 though, only 0.84:1. But I guess with the deep 1st running shallower gears is more feasible.
Are you going to be running WVO/WMO/mix or just pump diesel?
