Do not mean to intrude, but my jeep has a loss of power at about 40 mph in that it is slow or difficult to accelerate. Exaust is smooty and it is burning fuel bad. Went through a half a tank in three days riding around town, but not really going any distance. Thanks for any assistance or guidance you can give.
Basic tuneup parts must be replaced. NGK plugs, Belden wires and premium cap and rotor from Napa.
Disregard any smartass comments by him regarding the stroker into my MJ. LOL!!!
I'm in Command Central, not the garage anyway.

ok.
When was the last tuneup that replaced air filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor? RESPONSE: Not sure at this point. Will contact prior owner about it.
Is there a whistling sound under the hood when the engine runs? RESPONSE: Nope
Is the little plastic tube that runs from the throttle body to the MAP sensor on the firewall intact? RESPONSE: Not sure of the plastic tube you are refering.
Ever replaced the oxygen sensor? RESPONSE: Nope. I will do it in the morning.
If I can not get a response to the first question, I will do it in the morning as well.

The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor tells the PCM/ECU how much gas to dump in based on, well, pressure in the intake. High vacuum (low pressure) is indicative of low air flow from the throttle plate shut. Low vacuum (high pressure) is indicative of high air flow when the throttle is wide open. If the MAP has any vacuum leaks it dumps a lot of gas in.
Alright, don't get any Denso or any universal junk. Application-specific NTK or Bosch. I can't remember which was OE on Renix.

Coolant looked green and there's no numbers on it. All worn out on the area where the numbers should have been stamped on it. It got a hole on top with a ball bearing in it, looks like original. The old housing doesn't have any crud in it or anything, the insides actually look cleaner than I would have expected.
