99 and up XJs had 29 spline wouldn't the KJs have that too?

KJ has rear coil springs. All the brackets are different

Right but he said he had a buddy that might be able to weld the correct stuff for him. The KJs have 29 spline right? I'm only assuming because the last couple generations of XJ did but I could be wrong though.

Keep in mind, he's gonna need to have the matching gear ratio to go with the front axle.

97+ were 27 spline. Yes, the KJ would be 29 spline as well, but in the event that he couldn't find someone to weld the perches or do it himself, he can find a 95 (or 96) and down with the 27 splines and put the carrier, axleshafts, and discs from the KJ axle onto the XJ axle housing... then he has leaf spring perches and the good stuff rom the KJ 29 spline 8.25 - only thing, as was mentioned, would be a matched gear ratio

Little typo at the beginning, buddy. '97+ were 29-spline. Older models were 27

I don't think that would be cost effective because the gears would have to be set up again

Although, if the ratios were right, could he just swap the pair of spider gears and shims? or would you keep the factory shims in place and just swap the 2 spider gears...or he could throw in a locker too while he's in there! Then no spider gears or shims to mess up.

500 ohms is WAY too high. Should be like 3.
Oh wait I was off a decimal place...short term memory is crap. lols Anyways ~45 ohms to the firewall ground and ~50 ohms to negative battery terminal...probably still too high? Maybe I need to just refresh all the grounds? Does cruiser have a ground clean up walkthrough for 97+ XJ's?

I don't but CCKen has a diagram showing them all.

Remember: Bare metal and OxGard.

Refreshing all connectors you can find in the engine bay is also a good idea.
