Someone told me that cast aluminum VCs helped dissipate heat little better. Is that true
Stamped steel is cheaper to make.

I have the aluminum cover on my 93' I think it looks better. But harder to find the ccv grommets for them. Have to order them.

But they do look cooler when you pop the hood!

What about the new ones that vendors are selling. Do they use older style grommets?

I'm sure they are cast reproductions. I use the felpro permadry plus gasket. It has built in grommets.

Newb question here. I'm replacing the head in my 95 XJ cause it's cracked. Do u need to just replace it with a 95 oem head or should I get a better head? If so which one?

No they are different. Have to order those. They are not grommets like newer ones. More like rubber washers.

How right is my serpentine belt supposed to be? I replaced it this weekend while changing my alternator.

Everything works fine and well until I stop at a stop light or something. I stop and I notice my voltage drops. And when I begin to accelerate I notice a little squeeking and then it goes away quickly. I'm assuming it is something with the belt.

On a side note I for some reason took off the idler pulley to remove the belt at first, not knowing I could have just adjusted the Pulley up and down... Could either of these be my problem? The belt has about 1/4-1/2 inch play if I just push on it with moderate effort.

Always need to retighten the belt after a few days. It will stretch out some as it wears in. We don't have tensioners, so you have to check and adjust it after a while.

Okay thanks, I'll jump out and tighten it before class. And if not a tensioner than what would it be referred too? I have a 96 and to adjust it I just have to mess with a long 15mm bolt with a stopper in the middle. That stopper is where the idler puller bolts in to.

Twist the belt to check for tightness. Shouldn't go more than 90°. And yea, most belts tend to stretch. Gatorback for the win

I mentioned that as options for the radiator slots on mine. Sorry for the confusion.

The shroud I bought is 52027501AC and it doesn't fit. There is an 52027501-AC and 52027501-AB. Not sure what the difference is. Both claim to work on all cherokees.

Got any ideas where I can get a 27 tooth speedo gear for my Cherokee? I have a 89 ax15 and np231 swapped in.

Also I can lock my doors and hatch with my key but not unlock. The key is orignal and extremely worn. Can I pull a cylinder and have a new key cut or replace tumblers and key all a round?
