New question here from a new guy.....
My rear differential has a rubber plug in it instead of a screw-in type plug. Is this someone's cobble job ?? I checked the lube & put the plug back in, but forgot to see if the opening had good threads, while the lube was running out....
It doesn't leak, so I'm not excited about it, but I would like it to be correct at some point...

This is why I need to buy an aftermarket one cause my plug leaks slowly due to pinion angle and SYE. Every time I go to buy though, jeep needs something else bwhahhahaha
Lol, I was thinking the same thing

Solid industries man! I got my 8.8 and d 30 cover for like 60$ each. Where they put the plug on my 8.8 I can fill it with a gallon of fluid cause it's so high it fills the tubes with fluid lol

Those engineers know what they're doing man. Guess it wasn't about cost to use a RUBBER fill plug instead a METAL threaded one.

What am I missing? I can't get the factory skid plate off my 1998 xj. I have removed 5 bolts and 3 nuts and removed the hitch but it won't budge . It looks like the studs are holding it on but there is no access that I can see to remove them and I cannot find any info on the net. It has been removed a couple of years ago so I know it comes off. This is the first time I am doing though.
