Thoughts on going to carb? I'm sick and tired of dealing with the ongoing issue with the computer.. It was suggested that this might be a viable way around all that, but not knowing enough about the subject, i need input! all this assuming i can find someone around here who would know how..

It creaks and pops almost as bad as me when I get up from a chair. LOL
Two sites for you:

http://www.rockauto.com/ <- Best prices and parts catalog I've seen
http://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/ <- Diagrams and OE part numbers

http://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/s...category=23297 is the front suspension control arms, to get you started.

Bushings are sold each, or in packs of two

Double post!!!!!
Upper control arms: 4x the same bushing (most sold in pairs)
Lower control arms: 4x the same bushing (most sold in pairs) (easier to replace entire control arms, though)
Sway bar: 2x bushings bar-to-frame (most are sold in a kit of two though), 1x end link bushing kit (eg. Mevotech MK3150)
Trackbar: Axle end is one bushing, frame end is non-serviceable.
Steering: Recommend upgrading to V8 ZJ tie rod - 1x XJ drag link, 1x V8 ZJ tie rod, 2x TREs, 2x TRE adjusting sleeves

Doing a full front-end service is laudable though the control arm bushings are a colossal pain in the ***. Might want to verify where the noise is from first.

Well, there's no 4.0L with a carb, so you're looking at adapting an AMC 258 (4.2L), or a 350 swap, then having to deal with all the incessant bull**** that a carb entails, including, but not limited to, not operating off camber, emissions issues regarding a 'swap', possible hotrod insurance status, worse fuel economy, lack of integration with current systems, and unreliable performance in adverse weather.

You tell me how viable an entire engine swap is versus just fixing the problem in the first place. lol

haha.. yeah, it sounded odd. but i so lack the knowledge.

What's the problem?
its had a long history of o2 issues, now its throwing a multiple random misfire code. its all i can do to start it, and when it does finally chug to life its a dog. no WOT past 3500 RPM cause it backfires, hesitates and acs like its at rev limiter. low RPM in 4th it will very suddenly stutter every second or two when trying to accelerate. EVERYTHING is new, air fuel (unless its the injectors) and spark all the way out to the plugs is good. battery and cables are good, grounds are good.. like i said, might be injectors, but I'm sending in my (refurbed) ECM tomorrow AM so maybe thats the culprit.

I can't argue with these statements. mostly cause i don't have a knowledgeable leg to stand on..

oh, I've been trying to solve this (worsening) problem since i bought it 5 years ago.. so frustrating..

Ok well i found mine, passenger side of engine. PO bumped into something with the passenger side so he had to relocate it, my bumper on that side is a little crooked too. Nothing terribly noticeable though which is nice lol

To answer your original question along the same line, it'd be easier to swap everything from another XJ than do a carb setup.
