XJ Ask the Question Thread
Howd you fix that? Mine does it when the tank gets below half. I dont really wanna spend any money fixing it, can I just patch it up, or what?
I have a 2.5 jeep cherokee im portuguese, replaicing the clutch i decided change the rear main seal too but after removed the flyweel i got the oring seal but i have this too and a piece of metal dropped instantly aafter i removed the flywheel .
Its 2 piece of metal like half moons and now i look to this but i dont know if i can replace this or only removing the crankshaft . The 2 pieces are not in the picture but im here just if someone know if i can replace this or better not ..im tired to checking online but almost all explanacions are about 4.0L and nothing like this ...thankyou

Alright guys, do y'all think this is a oil filter adapter leak or just from oil draining out the filter when doing oil changes? Take a look. No oil on oil pan or really anywhere but around the adapter.

I have new motor mounts so no issue with the filter hitting the frame.

If you have the manual of this you can check in EGINE PARTS and not CLUTCH.
I have a manual that i got it internet and its there , thrust whashers to deal whit the "end play crankshaft". If you never heard about "end play " like i did , check in youtube and you will undestand.

Anyone experience much improved gas millage when using 93 octane vs 87? I have been conducting some research and the last 4 tanks bear this out.
Ever since the cylinder head resurface and new valves and springs, I have been getting about 13 to 13.5 mpg. I put new plugs in about 5 tanks ago and mpg was the same. So, I decided to try 93 octane for grins.
Last 20 tanks, 87 octane = 13 to 13.5 mpg per tank. I have intentionally run the last 3 tanks way, way down to where I was able to put in 18.5 gallons or right at that on all 3.
Tank 21, 93 octane = 14.4 mpg.
Tank 22, 87 octane = 13.2 mpg.
Tank 23, 93 octane = 14.3 mpg.
Just curious if anyone else has had a similar result?

I was tired of the oil filter adapter leak so I did the oil filter adapter mod several months ago. No more leaks and no issues.

Two questions:
How has the temperature changed since you switched? I understand it was cold down there and it got warmer.
Is the high octane fuel you use 100% gasoline? 87 is normally 10% ethanol, in my area Shell 91 is guaranteed pure. Some vehicles get better mileage on pure gas... making the octane rating number irrelevant
