Just wanted to thank everyone. I am doing a bit of work to my jeep this weekend, and every thing I googled (rear disc brake conversion, LCA swap, SYE install, durango box - btw, helluva good write up on that dukie - shackle relocation brkts) and every time google brought me to my friends at CF. Excellent work going on here. Just wanted to thank all.

Its what were here for. As long as people listen, learn and are open for slight criticism, there is nothing that cant be learned here. Lotta great people

I like what Dumajones has to say regarding the subject.
"All the stuff done to my XJ I have learned from CF So I have no write ups just use the search to find what you need. That's what I did, when I started off bone stock."

Great!

Yep at the time of me doing my jeep I was still learning how to do forums didn't know how to ask a question so all I did was search and read for days. Then my son helped me on what to do as for follow threads and posting lol. This place has all the info you ever need I call CF my jeep bible.. and this is the only forum I have a membership with.

Is one better than the other? Do they both suck? What's up? Thanks in advance!

I'm eternally thankful for the help I've found here. Since I've been on CF I've spent about $800 on my Jeep. One of the many repairs and upgrades would have cost me that much or double. The troubleshooting at the shops would've cost me that much. A loose bolt on a manifold might have been a new gasket on the manifold had I payed someone to figure it out and fix it. Because of this, I've developed the philosophy that, the only way you can waste money maintaining your vehicle is if you pay someone else to do it (short of having no mechanical sense about you).

If you have to pay hundreds to a mechanic to fix a problem, easily solved by tightening a bolt, if you're like me, you have no more money to spend on other necessary repairs to your Jeep. Your vehicle gets less and less reliable, and you end up paying for an engine swap in the long run.

Because of this forum, I can keep my Jeep nearly perfectly maintained until that 0331 cracks but by then I'll have a Tupy sitting in the floor, ready for years of service.

Sorry for the rant but, thanks.

You might luck out and not have that happen. Not all 0331 heads crack.

Thanks. I've read that a few places. It's still a little spooky though. When I changed the V cover gasket I took a good look at it. No crack yet. I only hope the PO's lack of maintenance to the cooling system hasn't compromised it substantially. There was a lot of sludge. More than I knew was possible. But I've flushed it. And I'm fixin to do an overhaul on the cooling system. Flushing it again, obviously. Get the extra ~2 cups out of the block by removing the block drain plug this time.

Well I am home this weekend and reckon I will start ordering the parts to repair my heater core and a/c system. I need opinions on the best parts for the job. Heater core, a/c evaporator core, a/c compressor.

I only plan on doing this once, as in repair once with quality parts.
