Figure with a hack n tap you cut am inch to 1 1/4" of the output shaft. And at the same time you cut the sye flange to fit the new shaft length. Only main difference with the slip yoke DC and the sye one is the lack of the bolt to hold in place and the slip yoke DC is hanging out further

You're right. And the nut is supposed to sit inside the hole of the u bolt plate, not on top lol... Then trim the excess off.

Well it will still center it afaik, but maybe not be retained as well *BUT* if the u bolt was gone, it would come off... Is that not good?
I thought it was supposed to be clamped on to the leaf, not just sitting under it but duder did it not me... but I also doubt the structural integrity of a 3/8" bolt past just keeping them from not slipping side to side. If I put this on, it'd go leaf pack bolted together --> shim slips over center pin head --> center pin head goes into spring perch hole --> u bolts tighten the spring plate down, and the weight of the vehicle keeps the spring pin in the perch & therefore shim in place. Do you think it would start to walk out one way or the other over time? I do not want that. This is what I get for being lazy when its cold.
I don't know how much of a part the center pin plays structurally past just keeping it aligned to the spring perch.

I had to drill out my spring perch a hair to fit the center pin when I installed my leaf pack. Rubicon Express 3.5" kit w/ the stock center pin that came with it. I imagine it'd be extremely hard for it to rotate because it'd end up hitting the u bolts anyway.
I'm just going to get another pack of shims & center pins and do it myself.
