It's probably a POS then. Get them to warrantee it and get a better quality one.

 

Alright, Canada (and anyone else following), here ya go.

No light in the switch when in the Off position, regardless of the statuses of dash lights, marker lights, and headlights.

Light does come on when the headlights are On and switch is in On position. (Due to fog light relays in OEM harness. One relay requires the headlights to be on to activate fogs. The other kills the fogs when high beams are activated.)









I got the new relay today, but I haven't tried anything with the light bar due to the nonstop freezing rain since I woke up.

 

I was following. I want to do the same thing when I add some fogs to the dd.

So have you tried testing just the switch in a purpose-built circuit on a bench? Or are you just messing with the whole system? Trying to figure out how "switch is weird" turned into "relays are broken"

 

Eh, they're comfortable. I've been wearing these Vans for over two years, and they still have tread.

I guess I'll dig around and see if I can macguyver a circuit in my apartment. I don't really have anything to work with.

The relays I just mentioned are in the OEM harness. They work. The one I replaced is in the new harness, and I replaced it because the light bar wasn't working even with the included switch (which had been tested previously).

 

I see. Yeah sounds like it's time for some poking around with a multimeter and bench-testing of components.

I hear a lot of people say that about those shoes lol. I won't go outside without steel toes.

Due to my various work uniforms, I have 11 pairs of shoes. It's a pain in the *** lol, but I don't like wearing boots all the time.

Anyway, the harness, relay, and switch worked when I got it. Now the LED won't light even when configured how I got it. I think I blew the relay when I was messing with the fog switch.

The fog switch has the 48 ohm resistance, but there's no constant light in there. I don't get that.

If there's a break in the weather, I'm gonna try it again how it was given to me (but with the new relay). If that works, I'll try the fog switch again since I now know how to wire it.

I just wanted to update you with pics of the switch and the way it operates in case it sparked an idea.

Think so, not sure. It's a '93, so a newer used one wouldn't make much of a different.

 

Got the shackles and u bolts off the leafs, having trouble with the front bolt that goes into the unibody... Gonna finish it up tomorrow

If you fold down the backseat probably. But measure your hood and then measure your interior
