I can see how that would make sense as well.. My only thought in that is that it stopped for a bit after I had added more fluid. It did I again last night, pretty violently, felt like it jumped in and out of gear rapidly or a couple of seconds. Ill test the TPS and and of its good I'm doing a fresh transmission fluid flush today

I don't know that the aw4 will fit in a GC that had a 42re...its a type of trans that alot of them have. Dodge rams share a similar trans and they are CRAP

No, no electronics from your Jeep. He's going to have to do some wiring though.

Ah, has a 42re. ZJs with the 4.0 came with a 42re transmission. Folks swap to the aw4 for a reason. If he's trying to swap transmissions then I'll assume he knows what he's getting into. Yes, he can use your transmission.

Torque converter and flex plate are different, PCM/TCM is different and would need to be wired into his Jeep, drive shafts are different, output shaft is different (This can be fixed), etc...
It can be done but it's not a simple bolt-in swap.

89 Cherokee......Another electric fan question- Fan is good, new relay and new temp sensor on the back of the head for the gauge. What other sensor should I be looking at ? The one on the radiator or the one below the intake manifold on the block ? Also is there a fuse inside the cab for the fan?? I let it get to over 218 degrees and it is still not coming on.
I don't have my AC System charged yet so it is unplugged. So that fuse is an inline fuse huh. What about the sensors ? One on the radiator and the other on the block under the intake. I think I'm getting it hot enough 218 to get it to come on . Maybe I need to buy a point and shoot temp. gun ?
