Ill test the TPS and and of its good I'm doing a fresh transmission fluid flush today
I know mine acted a little finicky during my diagnoses phase. Sometimes it would drive great, short trips longer trips didn't matter. Other times, just moving it around the property it would drive terribly. I believe it was crusier that finally internet slapped me into going with my hunch of testing/replacing the TPS.

I don't know that the aw4 will fit in a GC that had a 42re...its a type of trans that alot of them have. Dodge rams share a similar trans and they are CRAP

Ah, has a 42re. ZJs with the 4.0 came with a 42re transmission. Folks swap to the aw4 for a reason. If he's trying to swap transmissions then I'll assume he knows what he's getting into. Yes, he can use your transmission.

No, no electronics from your Jeep. He's going to have to do some wiring though.

A shop is doing it for him i believe. He said "they said..." Multiple times when asking questions about it.

Must be one hell of a shop.

Torque converter and flex plate are different, PCM/TCM is different and would need to be wired into his Jeep, drive shafts are different, output shaft is different (This can be fixed), etc...

It can be done but it's not a simple bolt-in swap.

My jeep has been recently idling at 1200 rpm. It used to idle at 750. What can I do to fix this.

Remove the key from the ignition.

I'd start testing sensors. Starting with the TPS and IAC.

You can test the TPS by looking at post #30150 in this thread.

I don't have my AC System charged yet so it is unplugged. So that fuse is an inline fuse huh. What about the sensors ? One on the radiator and the other on the block under the intake. I think I'm getting it hot enough 218 to get it to come on . Maybe I need to buy a point and shoot temp. gun ?
