I have combed Chilton and Haynes with no luck. An exploded drawing or photo would greatly be appreciated
You're going to want to post in the Grand Cherokee section. As far as we can tell that came off of some kind of alien space craft

Quick question...

Jeep was running even more rough, "skipping" when accelerating (I imagine the skipping that I thought was a transmission thing was actually misfiring, but I have no idea... never experienced a misfire, really.), etc... I was about to drive home to school and then I got like 1 mile from my house when I realized there was no way I was driving thirty minutes like that. So, I turned around... then the CEL came on. Got it checked and it was throwing codes for bad upstream o2 sensor, random misfire on cylinder 4, and p420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold)... I got a ride from someone because it's finals week, so my dad drove it down to his mechanic friend who was looking around and pulled the plug wires off and the contacts between the distributor and wire were rusting.

So, my plan is to replace the cap/rotor/wires. I just replaced the plugs less than a few thousand miles ago, and I'm wondering if the misfire could have messed up the plugs that I replaced? Like the un-burnt fuel fouling stuff up? I also wonder if the o2 code could be a product of the misfire.

What I'm asking is this: should I just go ahead and get a new cap/rotor/wires/o2 sensor and throw them on? Or is it possible that the o2 isn't really bad? Still haven't had a chance to test the TPS, because my dad is the only one with a multimeter and he uses it all day at work and we're never home at the same time.

I'd go ahead and replace it. The original O2 sensor is meant to be a 60k mile replacement part.

Yes, get them all. It's likely that the sudden dump of raw fuel onto the O2 sensor caused that code, but they're only rated for about 80k anyway. If it's original, replace the O2S.

That's O2 Sensor; not O2s. Only replace the downstream O2 if you get a code for it. The upstream one is the one to replace.

Lol so probably don't have a torque arm like I said I just read another thread which mentioned that (most 2.5l threads are for the tj/yj). Still looking for info on what to expect when changing the tranny mount.

NTK is a better choice for O2 sensors.

Hello
I have a 2000 xj with automatic transmission.
The roads here are pretty snowy so I have been using 4hi around town. Is it bad to come to a stop in 4 hi. Put into park and turn off the engine? Then start up the engine with the 4x4 engaged already? Or when I need to park it should i switch back to 2 wheel and then place into park? Can I reverse in 4hi after having parked the car an leaving the 4c4 hi engaged?
