[QUOTE=unionfitter;2453032]I don't have my AC System charged yet so it is unplugged. So that fuse is an inline fuse huh. What about the sensors ? One on the radiator and the other on the block under the intake. I think I'm getting it hot enough 218 to get it to come on . Maybe I need to buy a point and shoot temp. gun ?

i just did an oil change on the weekend. I had rotella 0w40, and switched to quaker state defy 5w30. I wanted to give it a shot since its almost $30 cheaper for 6 qts. now its got some pretty wicked clackity clak at start-up, and stays that way until it warms up. then its just barely noticeable. all I ever use for filters are napa golds. wtf. should I try to get my $'s worth and just run it till the next oci, or change it back to the rotella? or maybe find an additive for it?
what would you do?

Test to see if you're getting voltage to the relay and out of the relay to the fan. Are you getting power to the fan at all? Are you getting power to the relay at all? Are you getting power on the switch leg of the relay? Does the fan come on when you send ground to the switched leg of the relay?
Are you aware of how a relay works?
Test the sensor at cold and then test if again after you think the fan should be on to be sure it's working.

So my oil pressure reads at zero on the gauges but it eventually goes up to the middle. 10w40 and when I was in a TJ the other day it was above the center mark. So is it good to have high or lower oil pressure?

I have a feeling the new oil has washed out the sludge from a lifter or two.

Generally I think running whichever oil results in the least amount of noise is a good thing. But sludge = bad

Hmmm. 15 isn't attrocious by any means. Quite possibly grap got knocked loose, maybe a loose clearance is revealed or you've blocked something. Any signs of sludge?

I think i'll just go with it for now, and if the noise worsens, i'll switch back. and if that doesn't help I might just find a renix donor and do a rebuild/replace. its only got 280k, but it seems really tired out. but, that's only comparative to the 89 Comanche I had when I was young, that thing went like a raped ape.
thanks for the input!

If you want to read continuity to ground put it on the little white speaker symbol at just before 6 o'clock.
If you want to read resistance put it on the 200 at 6 o'clock.
