Wouldn't hurt to take the drum off and look at everything in there either... Especially to make sure that they brakes are adjusting out properly
okay cool. i'll probably be sorting out the brakes friday.
as far as the plug goes, since it's for the fan it probably isn't causing the coolant temp gauge not to work then right? so should i just replace the sensor? is there a fuse that could be blown? i'm not exactly sure where to start with this either

The fan should kick on when the AC is selected or when the temp sensor registers 218*. Replacing the sensor probably wouldn't hurt but it might not be the issue. Shouldn't be any fuses with it because of the way the gauge is wired. Make sure the connections are good going to the gauge and you might want to look into an aftermarket temp gauge...
Im running a 91xj with the 4.0. My new issue is that itll crank but not start. Problem started a few weeks ago after I rebuilt the motor. It just died at a light. I got it home, checked the codes and got 41 which is "alternator field not switching properly". I have no idea what this is. And 54 which, depending on what page your on in my Haynes is either the "distributor sync" or "No cam signal at PCM". I just put in a new distributor so by process of elimination I would need a cam position sensor?

The AC compressor comes on to pull the humidity out of the air to defrost the window and to take most of the humidity out of the cab.

Iv got a 90 xj with a swapped in overhead console by the previous owner. The compass and all lights work great, however the temp gauge on the console is inaccurate. I located the sensor at the front of the jeep.
What would i need to do for it to read accurate? Is there a link to somewhere that sells he sensor?

I used a company online (forget name) for my ABS for Avalanche. Has no issues. They were one of the few that had a phone number to call and answered. That should narrow it down on a google search.

Coolant leaking question for you guys. I've got a 98 classic that I drove a hour round trip. About half mile from my house I started to lose coolant didn't notice anything until I got out and my wheels were soaked. Popped the hood and it's coming someone from the front drivers side. I don't believe there are any freeze plugs up there (hopefully) and the upper rad house seems in good condition. It's pretty much right under the airbox and the bottom edge of the radiator.
TL;DR coolant leak driver front. What is?
