Ok, then how do I replace this without getting fuel all over? It has a full tank and is currently parked facing uphill.

Undo the gas cap to release pressure in the tank. There's a valve on the side of the fuel rail. Hold a rag below it to catch spillage, and press in the valve to release any pressure. Other than that just be ready to catch any that may still be in the hose when you disconnect it. The fuel will stay in the tank don't worry

This is the valve:

You will need a fuel line disconnect tool from the local auto parts store to release the locks at the fuel rail.

Ok I soil like an answer ASAP as its getting dark and I would love to take my jeep to work fully functional. From my PVC hose to the air box where it connects is a little red rubber cap inside. What the hell is that for?

Is it the air box silencer possibly? Lots of people take them out, mine didn't even have one. Can you send a picture of it?

Default Oil pressure problems

So I've got a few problems if anyone has an answer or any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, I am new to all of this so sorry if this is something obvious.

My oil pressure is dropping down to around 10-20 on my oil pressure gauge whenever I'm at idle, this doesn't happen immediately but instead after the vehicle warms up. I have replaced the oil pump and oil pressure sending unit. Is my engine just plain shot? Also on occasion, my coolant temperature will shoot way up, if I have been idling for awhile and the A/C is on. it will go from about 210 to all the way up, and then randomly come back down.

Also anytime I turn my A/c unit on as soon as I start my jeep it squeals really bad for a few seconds, but if I wait until I've been driving for a minute or so, then turn it on it does not squeal. My A/C is leaking, but that's a different story.

The squealing could be either a bad compressor, a bad compressor bearing, or a loose serpentine belt. Not sure about your oil pressure stuff. Good luck

Well the oil pressure at idle isnt a bad this. As long as it come back up when your driving your ok. The temp is an issue an that could be the thermostat not opening up properly. Hoping that's not a head gasket issue but I don't believe so. The squealing sounds like the belt is getting loose. Push down on the belt, with jeep off, and see how much down travel there is. Should only go down about 1/4"

Does it over heat at idle when a/c is off? I heard of other xjs start to over heat w a/c on at idle.

Does your xj have an electric fan too? Think that spouse to work with a/c and temp sensor. Not sure though

For over heating-tstat check, grab all coolant hoses after engine reaches op temp. If they are all the same tstat ok

engine running- take rolled up newspaper and shove into fan. If you can stop the fan w the paper the fan clutch if bad.

Check wheep hole in water pump
Could be bad temp sensor. Check manual for test

Good point on fan, didn't think to mention that one. Your electric fan should turn on and stay on as your AC is on
