would placing it in "learning mode" have any other side-effects?.. or would it just take the 5-10 miles to get out of learning mode?

thanks

It erases any trouble codes that might be stored, and you need to drive it not let it idle through the gears.

Ah - this is important. How are you connecting the iPod? The cable or charger unit can have a bad ground.

Also make sure to check the braided cable from the firewall to your block. On RENIX models this is listed as a proper engine ground, later years have it listed as a function only to reduce radio noise.

Last night while installing my Bushwacker fender flares, twi things happened. #1. While drilling the front drivers side mounting holes I drilled a little to deep on one and went right into the windshield washer tank. Oops. I let it drain down then plugging the hole with seam sealer. I think is okay but won't know until I fill it. Now the question. During the install I opened the rear hatch to get a tool. When all done I noticed my light on the dash says my hatch is open. It is not. Any ideas what could cause it?

Spark plug wires
Well it's a 2000 so there aren't any plug wires, but I just have the iPod hooked up with an aux. cord into the front of the radio. I didn't install the radio but I can ask my buds if he grounded it.

95 ft. lbs for the spring to frame bolts, 65 ft. lbs for u-bolts, 50 ft. lbs for spring pivot bolts (on shackle) per the FSM.

But for a softer ride, you can go with 80 at the main eyes (frame side) and 45 at the shackle side.

I have a pair of old emu 2" leaf packs that I will be installing next weekend. After doing some reading on dukie's build thread I found out that there is such a thing as leaf liner. Does the leaf liner just reduce the friction between the packs to make for a better ride? and is it 100% necessary? I have read that it is expensive... Are there any alternatives?

all leaf packs have some sort of liners - usually just pads at the very ends and at the centers, which is really where they are needed. I just chose full length liners as an extra step.

OME packs should perform excellent without modification.

x2, as if anyone needs to back this guy up. If I had OME parts, i wouldn't even consider disassembling them to change anything. Install and be happy

I am taking my throttle body off to clean the iac. I bought a new throttle body gasket but my question is do I have to pit any silicone or anything around the gasket when I replace it or do I just put it on without anything else?

nope just the gasket - but why do you need to take the throttle body off to clean the IAC? Just unscrew the screws and pull it out

I found a great deal on a Warn Trans4ormer grill guard on CL and it's for a 1996 to 2001 XJ. I got a 1993 XJ and was just wondering how hard it would be to make it work... they can't be that different can they?

If it fits a '96, it fits a '93. As I told someone earlier today, the mounts are the same. The only difference between 96- and 97+ is at the front of the fender. The older style comes to a point, and to mount a 97+ aftermarket bumper, you would need to cut off that piece of sheet metal. It's a common mod.

Old style:

Newer style:

For the brush guard, it won't matter. that should fit '84-'01.
