1) checked the normal areas for coolant loss and found nothing
A) no leaking radiator,or hoses.
B) no water in oil or under the oil fill cap.
C) Had the heater core flushed, and flushed the cooling system.
2) I swapped out the water pump, and changed the thermostat. It still ran 220 and higher.
3) I checked all the area around the head nothing still, it does not steam out the exhaust. Still no milky oil.
4) wired the elec. fan to switch and the mech. fan works fine. Flushed system again.
Still ran 220 plus, so I took out the thermostat and put the housing back on empty and swapped the radiator, and flushed the system. It now still runs 180-190 degrees with no stat in it.

Any ideas????
First question is how higher than 220 did it run?
220-225 is normal temp.
Just cause the thermo is 190 does not mean its going to run 190

It pegged out the gauge twice. I shut it off let it cool enough to start it up and add 50/50. It would run 210 on the gauge and stay a while. Which is normal temp.

You may have a clogged rad. That was my problem. But it's a hard call.
Take it to a shop and have them do a block check on it.
You may have warped the head to allow exhaust gasses into your cooling system causing your coolant to overflow. It won't smoke like a normal head gasket like you would expect.
A block check will tell you if that's the case.

I have a 1985, with the 2.5 engine. Has anyone taken the fan blade off and ran an electric fan to gain horsepower? I mean to tell ya power I do not have! haha. i heard I'd gain about 10 horses doing this. My question, what to take electric fan off of at JY, and where to run the temp gauge, on the radiator or engine block for the sensor? if radiator i could braze a threaded fitting into either side tank? what has worked for anyone else?

The FRAM of today is not the FRAM of yesteryear. Short story is that they are cheap pieces of crap internally and fail very frequently in the 4.0L engine.

Bottom line is, why not spend 3 dollars more on a puralator and know you are getting a much higher quality filter.

QUESTION, is there a bracket kit to install front tow hooks, a search gasve me Kyle, from 2008 but now where i can find is the name of company he used for the brackets.

has anyone made there own brackers or is there a company out there? Thanks for any help

Default 03 cherokee vibration

i have a 2003 grand cherokee limited V-8 and i have these highway speed vibration issues i have tried almost everything i can think of ...brand new tires...replaced the steering dampner/stabilizer...all brand new sway bars on the front ....brand new traction bar....and yesterday spent 160 bucks and replaced every u-joint on the vehicle including the knuckle ball on the rear of the front drive shaft that i was told wears as fast as the ujoints themselves do..
i am at a loss to get ride of this rumble/vibration i get at 70+ mph i get on the freeway...i feel it in the stearing wheel ,gas pedal, the seats its not a massive vibration but you definitely feel it and hear it and it is not normal..the jeep runs smooth as a cadillac ride until i hit about 70 mph and it stops if i slow down or let off the throttle but starts right back up soon as i hit the accelerator again and gets worse the faster you go...
i tried to see if you can accelerate past it but it just gets worse and worse up to 90 mph and i backed off afraid something would break.

i really need to figure this out its my 1st jeep and i love it except for this problem.. it is all OEM i have done no modification to it other than put a cool air intake air filter on it to improve gas mileage
