So the original renix temp sensor will fit in the water neck? Right now they have the ho temp sensor wired in and its making it run like crap when it warms up even a little bit

There should be a plug in the side of the HO block - It'll have a square hole - get a 5/16" or 8mm hex head allen wrench from the hardware store and grind down two corners to make it fit.
The part number for that sensor is 33002383

anyone know why my stock leaf spring would have been less then 2.5" wide? this happen to anyone else? I Pm'd dukie (the expert) about it earlier. I find it really weird that the leafs had a smaller width but the eyes were still wide enough to mount up.

i checked the hubs when i had the brakes all redone when i bought it and there was no play in any of the cv joints that me or the mechanic could tell....i have only owned this jeep 30 days now and already dropped 2500 in it i hope i can figure this out soon its getting rediculous trying to get this thing in good runnnig shape so i can travel in it.
i guess thats the next thing i will try is taking the CV joint apart and looking.

Stay away from pop machines & go hit some trails in it. It will thank you for it.
In all seriousness, you will prob have to crack the door open and track it down. Sounds like loose connection. Could be computer though. Moisture on a contact/relay somewhere. Hard to tell. Jeeps are infamous for electrical issues.

Hiya Everyone! I'm new here which I'm sure you alredy knew that. Thanks for this thread b/c you're right I didn't want to start a whole new one. I've actually used quite a few posts from this forum to help me and I finally decided to create an account. Last week my Jeep failed to start. After much debate I realized it was the CPS. I replaced that this Saturday, reset the computer and what not. Thankfully it started. However it is still doing the long crank. I turn my key and it won't fire. I turn it off, turn the key again and it cranks and fires right up. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I was super optimistic that replacing the CPS would fix that problem b/c it did the long crank before it wouldn't start last week. But no such luck. I appreciate any help. Thanks!!!!

It fails to start the first time, but starts quickly the second time? My first thought would be the check valve in the fuel line. Anybody wanna second that, or give better advice? I had the same problem with my XJ, but I never got around to fixing it before I totaled it.

No problem. Wish I could give more info about the fix, but I haven't done it myself.

And Welcome to CF avetthead.
Got kind of a stupid question. I have a horrible plastic sounding vibration around the glove box area. Ive tried everything, emptied out glove box, New screws in all the interior pcs, patched up the hole in the firewall where the a/c lines come in, took all the rivots out of the inner door panels and replaced with screws. Im at my wits end, all other rattles fixed but this one's horrible. I even stuffed rags all over to try to stop it. Still there. Anyone else have this annoying elusive rattle and fix it? Im wondering if its like my HVAC box or something.

So I just bought a 99 xj 4.0 4x4 and it has a bit of rod-knock, nothing too serious just an annoying tap. So I decided to take off the oil pan and see if there may be a seal or bearing that got damaged. The oil pan will not slide out though. It is resting on the axle ad not wanting to come out. I took off the starter, and front shocks, put the jeep on jack stands and tried raising the front axle while it was lifted. Still nothing, any ideas?
