get a test light, ground the clamp end of the test light and use the other end as the wire coming off the coil. you should be able to spark a large gap and you want to see blue spark.

I believe ur ICM gets a signal from ur ECU when it needs to send electricity to the coil. So if ur not getting a misfire CEL code then it's probably not ur ICM or coil

There's a resistance test for the coil itself. I have no ideas what the numbers are for '94 models, if you measure the high and low side and post them here someone should know

 

When I was a kid, Pops & I were driving one of the well-drilling rigs to a new setup, and it started to misfire. We pulled over (the rig was still running) and opened up the hood. I was on the passenger side, and saw that one of the plug wires was hanging loose.

I said "I see it ..." and reached down for the plug wire. I think he was saying "Dooooon't ..." when I grabbed it. Full grip. Yep.

What's the normal rpm going 70 mph. Mines at 2500 rpm, I recently adjusted the transmission shift cable.

 

Sounds close to normal. Mines at about 2100 at 65.

 

So ive estimated im getting about 12 mpg full stock. Kinda concerning. My first fill up, my gauge said i was empty basically but the fuel pump only put in 14.6 gallons, so i assumed it was my gauge off. Now i drove 115 miles and my needle was below half a tank, so i filled again, this time 9.6 gallons. Im really hoping that they didnt fully fill me up the first time, because my gauge seems pretty accurate to me. Any ideas? Check O2s?

How can I fix this exhaust leak? Iv tried quick steel and and quick steel xtreme.

 

Where is it on the pipe? Go to an exhaust shop and have them weld it. The pic looks like it might be a little to big to just tack back together.

 

It appears to be right at the down pipe. You need to replace that section of pipe.

I'd imagine an exhaust shop would have the tool that you need.

I am at a loss and need some help. 93 Cherokee Country. No fuel no crank. I jumped the starter relay and it cranks perfectly. New starter, new starter switch. Fuel pump thumps like it is shutting down. I would assume this is a short causing all this. Would this be from possibly a bad ignition cylinder? The kid I bought it from said he hit a pothole and it shut down. Please help!

 

Hi Everyone,

My Jeep has started to "over rev" when shifting from 3rd to 4th. Instead of the revs dropping the revs increase by about 300 rpm, then shifts to 4th and the revs are where they should be. It has also started to not like "kicking down" from 4th to any other gear, such as going up a steep hill, it just stays in 4th.
On a maybe unrelated note the secondary fan is also now on alot more often than it used to be.
Auto transmission fluid is relatively new and up to the correct level.

All help greatly appreciated.
