Just for ha-ha's try squeezing the sides of the relay while the high beams are suppose to be on. Mine would activate then. Of course I replaced it. Low beam is still on the original one though.

Now, make sure the relays are mounted in the correct orientation and are grounded very well. Bare metal!

the new one doesn't have a mounting tab, but they are grounded well and wedged in vertically.

Finnally a solution! My highbeams beams have been driving me nuts! I mounted the relays sideways when I got my new harness in my jeep so maybe that's why I have problems with em. Gonna try putting em upright and see if that fixes the issue.

That's to keep water out so they don't rust like mine did in my Comanche. I suddenly lost all my forward lighting at 10pm on a mountain road. It was fun.

well dang. I should probably still put them upright. Anybody know what might cause highbeams to sometimes work and sometimes not, usually flicker off or on when hitting a bump in the road or when offroad.

tried that, no matter what I do I can't get them to flicker off when stopped. But as soon as I start driving, the dang things start flickering.

If not that ^^ try using the low beam relay. My hi beam flickering and/or not working at all was intermittent. Finally found I could squeeze the relay to make it activate and the hi beams would stay on. Hard to do while driving so I replaced the relay.

Is the dimmer switch and/or connector fried?

I gots a question too looking for any helpful hints/tips: I'm going to try to trace down a broken ground or 5v supply wire for my map sensor. Where should I start? Can I put some sort of temporary wire to bypass it? Should I just tear the loom apart and feel down the wires? Anyone sell cheap replacement looms?(dealer says they could be $700 or so). Thanks!

I thought about that but I figure since the relays were new with the harness that wouldn't be an issue. But I'll look.

I thought about that too, tried reaching behind the switch and wiggle wires but it didn't make any difference. I might take it out just to see if it's melted like they usually are.

Just drove my jeep for the first time in weeks. Started to have some vibrations that started real small and then got just a tad worse as I went. Got to my destination and get under the jeep to look. I see that one of the the bolts that connects the transmission mount the the transfer case had a gap. I tried to tighten it but it's pretty hard to turn and I don't have the proper tools. I'm at a hotel for a meeting tonight so nowhere to fix now. My question is can I drive it with these vibrations and backed out bolt for 80 miles tomorrow until I can get home and fix it?
