Default Shocks

So I took my front end apart today because I felt some odd activity in my shocks when I was on a logging road the other day. I took my shocks off and was able to compress them with just my own arms. Wondering if this is normal or if they are blown? I also have some pretty bad tread ware of my front tires.

I did swap in an air box air box from a 93 XJ which kind of crushed the air hose down, and I took off the map sensor and hose to let a friend borrow and see if it would fix his problem, also I removed the throttle body to take some pictures of it to see if I could get it bored out. I don't drive this jeep often, today is the first time in probably a month, so I'm not 100% sure when this started

You "removed" it or "swapped" it... if you were running your Jeep without a TPS, I'm not surprised you had trouble. Also, any time you remove the throttle body, you should replace the gasket. You're lucky you didn't wind up with a vacuum leak in the seal.

Nope... those are toast. You should be able to compress them, but not that easily. Usually takes pushing down with your body weight (think of how much your Jeep weighs).

I removed mine to test on my friends jeep (he has been having troubles and I've been loaning him parts) but then placed it back on my jeep immediately (which fixed my high idle in park and neutral).

3/8". The nut simply has a very large head on it. For some reason the front left appears to be 5/16".

Sounds electricalish to me. Poor wire or junk in the connector?

Default Ceiling cover

The fabric on the ceiling of my 2000 cherokee is falling down in the front. I here this is common and fixed with glue, any advice on what type of glue I should used to ensure it doesn't continue to fall down?

Yep I think I coaxed him in to doing the cruiser tips finally, after he said he was going to spend $200 on sensors. His is an '88, I've been telling him about this since he got the jeep I really hope he listens now lol.

Broken sensors on a Renix? Hogwash. If R*C*B*C*R*C doesn't fix it, let them soak in an IPA and they'll be fine... I have this on good authority from an expert.

Most do this. Best to remove the headliner, rip off the old fabric, scrape off the foam you will find underneath it, clean good, put new fabric on with the good 3M Glue. Plenty of write ups on this. You can try just gluing the front but it will be awkward to do and most likely won't last. I paid to have mine done in my '00. Ballpark fabric and 3M glue will run about $60 maybe. My thinking was is I would go through all the trouble to do it and do a lousy job. Got mine professionally done for $125. But that was with me removing the headliner and bringing it to my guy. Headliner removal is pretty straight forward just a little time consuming. Have a torx set you will need it. Start removing trim from the back and go forward.

Default Need help

So I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport. I got it for free from my stepmoms friend. I got so happy. See I am 18 and it's my first vehicle. I am obsessed with jeeps. Well now that I have the Jeep my parents told me that I have to fix it. The turn signals don't work outside the Jeep or on the dash board. The hazards don't work either. I am a senior in high school and I am second year auto tech student. I went through the Jeep changing the fuses and even changed the bulbs and switch. I have no idea what to do rn. I have asked the shop teacher if I could bring it in and he told me yes but I have to wait until almost winter to get her in. I need some help trying to figure out the problem so I can get her insured.

While trouble shooting I noticed the check engine light was on. When trying to test to see if the blower motor worked, I also noticed the electric cooling fan was not coming on when I turned the AC on.

I was near and Auto Parts store that offers a free diagnostic. Came up with code "p1491 Fan Relay Circuit"

are the electric fan and blower motor tied together?

I still can't find the relay. I did some searching on this forum and it seems that there might be a relay under the dash where the resistor is located. Does that sound right?

Too bad this is different from the 98 i have because i finally was able to find my way around on that one. This one is a 2000 Limited and has factory remote start and power seats and some other bells and whistles.

Changed the cooling fan relay under the hood. Cooling fan did not come on.

I do not want to take it to a repair shop so they can charge me a couple hundred to change the blower motor relay.

Could this be a more complex electrical problem?

Any help or suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. Without the knowledge and expertise of the members of this forum, I do not think I'd be able to afford to own an older XJ. (which would suck because I love them).
Update, still trying to chase down the cause of no blower motor working, Error code P1491 and no electircal cooling fan working.

From what I could search up on the forum the two problems are not related but the timing is awfully coincidental.

Thanks in advance for any assistance or guidance.
