Im new here so I dont know if this is the right colomn to ask this question BUT...
I have a 2001 grand cherokee with 3.1VM diesel and the transmission is starting to fail, and I've searched all over the internet and cant find what transmission is in the car. All forums say 44re (only if 4.0l) and mine is not 4.0l. any chance I can get some help on here???

Ahh. This is not an accurate way to tell. These gauges are not precise instruments, just to give you an idea. You need to use something like a ScanGauge or other OBD-II scanner device that reads the data from the computer.
Of course this just tells you that the computer's programming is working properly. If you want to find out if the the sensor itself is accurate, you need to use something like an infrared thermometer to determine what the REAL temperature is.

Please loot at the pic it's not normal. E-Fan is running and shuts down after 2 minutes.

Gauge takes longer to measure difference.
Fan - Radiator temp is not the same as engine water jacket temperature (it's cooler - because: Radiator)
Do you think this temperature is normal(in normal us) ? I think it is high, I live in weather 28 C average.

just do the regear yourself, yea it's hard to do, but if you do enough research and got the tools, it's really not too hard, just very slow and detail oriented process.

well I already paid the guy to do it and he's already put them in and he's making it right, but his shop is an hour away so taking it there gets old quick.
