They still had 21 spline t cases up to 1999 behind 4 cylinder jeeps. So when gear cut change occurred in 1994, you could use 1994 and older for your jeep, but since you want to use a 1998 t case, you will need 1995-1999 t cases to grab the input gear.

Leaving le Jeep for a night in a not-so-safe parking lot this weekend. Not that I think this old bomb will be stolen but just in case, can I just pull the ASD relay and take it with me?
Was going to rid the Jeep of valuables and leave the doors unlocked too. I hate broken windows...

Well, I guess I'll finnally admit defeat. The dreaded death wobble has once again claimed me in defeat. Let me start off what all I've done. New control arm bushings, new sway bar and links bushings, new steering box, new wheel hubs, new ball joints, new u joints, new/used track bar (with new bushing and oversized hardware), new/used ZJ steering upgrade (came off friends wrecked ZJ). I have no idea where the wobble is still coming from. With the vehicle in the air or on the ground, I can't find any looseness in the steering or track bar. Closest thing I can find is some roll in the draglink but the ends aren't loose. Wobble started one day randomly while driving. Never had problems with it before while going 75 plus on the highway. Then once the death wobble came, I couldn't get over 53ish mph. So, I replaced my control arm bushings, both wheel hubs, ball joints, and ujoints. All the other parts were done previously before I had death wobble. It wasn't till I lastly did the ball joints that I thought it was cured. But then today, I got on the highway (second time since the fix) and while going about 75, hit a bump and it came back. I'm all out of options. Any ideas? Thanks.
Anyway long story short, the bad ball joints ruined the tires and the tires were causing my DW. New tires, no more DW. You might be able to test just by swapping the fronts and rears.

Lol
Probably a better idea to lock the doors. At least it would thwart the efforts of the homeless looking for a bed

he bought it off copart. Looks like it was hit at the passenger wheel cause the control arms are bent and the axle was pushed back under the cab. Maybe this caused some damage to the Tierod ends?

How are your tires? My ball joints went bad and caused an OBVIOUS off camber wear pattern on my passenger side front tire very quickly. Like less than 3k miles quickly. I fixed the passenger side ball joints first and got what I thought was death wobble. Then I fixed the driver side and discovered what death wobble REALLY is lol. Anyway long story short, the bad ball joints ruined the tires and the tires were causing my DW. New tires, no more DW. You might be able to test just by swapping the fronts and rears.
