XJ Ask the Question Thread
So I recently added a 2000 XJ limited to my fleet.
The blower stopped working just like that. No grinding, off and on, working on certain speeds, just stopped.
I dealt with this on my 98 XJ Classic and it turned out to be just the plug that went in to the blower motor.
On the 2000, there doesn't appear to be a plug, it just looks like it is hard wired to the blower motor.
I checked the fuse, it is good. Is there a relay somewhere that I can check?
getting the blower motor out looks difficult due to the AC Accumulator being right in the way.
I am praying for an easy fix because I am not that handy.
Any suggestions on where to start would be helpful and much appreciated.

Yep, there's a relay and fuse located in the litle black panel under the hood. It's by the battery and coolant tank.
Another common problem is the blower motor resistor pack. It's located underneath the dash on the passenger side. You'll want to look up instructions on how to remove the panel to access it

This is what is in the fuse panel. The 40A fuse labled blower is fine. There is another fuse panel behind the kick plate under the glove box. Could the relay be there?

Installed some new homemade motor mounts today and now I'm getting some vibrations. Yes, I know this is expected of high performance motor mounts such as these and I don't mind the vibrations to much unless I'm in drive/reverse and sitting still. It is fine when I'm in park or neutral and while driving/moving, but if I put it in drive/reverse and sit idling, it vibrates the dash and everything quite a bit. It almost feels like it's coming from the transmission. So I check the trans mount wth a jack and it's still in tact and not torn/separated. But it is old. Is it possible that the trans mount could cause vibrations after installing the new motor mounts? Especially since the fact that it only does it in drive/reverse? Thanks.
Also, is there any particular brand transmisiion mount i should get. I was thinking of just getting some oem style mount but not sure which brand.

Yupp transmission mount is exactly the problem. I went through this last month with brown dog mounts. Was so mad with the vibrations in the conditions your describing that I swapped the brown dogs for napas. That didn't work. I then swapped the transmission mount for a napa and now it is smooth. Get a napa mount. Specifically their drive tech brand. Avoid anchor because that's what I first replaced my transmission mount with when I swapped the motor mounts the first time and that anchor mount is garbage.
Edit: nevermind, they r closed. . .

Fuse #16 in 2000 & 2001 PDCs (15A) appears to feed a lot, if not all, of the interior lights. Cabin courtesy and dome lighting, the visors, the radio, instrument cluster, even the under-hood lamp. It provides constant power for the cluster and radio so they keep their memory. All of the lamps are ground-switched.
