I have a question about some aftermarket headlight housings. Actually which bulb to buy. They are H4 12 volts. Can't decide if I should go with the 60/55 watt or the 100/80 watt. Are the 100/80 street legal? Most the adds I see say for offroad use.
I am putting in a relay harness to bypass the headlight switch so the lamps will be running directly off the battery.

Your local laws should be checked.
That said, my lights are not obnoxious at all in the Autopal housings.

So that made me wonder about the 60/55watt lamps. Seeing how they would be coming directly off the battery via relays, seems they would be plenty bright. However, I love overkill and you can never have too much light.
But I don't want to be "that guy" that blinds the heck out of everyone either.

Legality totally depends on your area, like Cruiser mentioned. In Ontario there isn't any regulation on how bright the lights may be, just that they have to be focused, with a proper cutoff and aim, and non-blinding. Other provinces and a few states I've seen a stipulation on how many lumens (or candle-power, if the law was drafted in the twelfth century) are permitted.
My own take is that main lighting should be very conservative with excellent aim and cutoff. Most of the time all you need the low beams for is seeing up to the car in front of you. High beams and any auxiliary lighting aren't going to be on when you're around other drivers, so, whatever you feel is appropriate I think should be. I've nearly gone off the road by ******** with overpowered and non-aimed lights. I've also nearly hit all kinds of wildlife because I couldn't see them.
For reference, the factory sealed beams are 35W on the low beam and the amazing AMC/Chrysler wiring ensures that the voltage is insufficient to make them burn as brightly as the factory intended. You're going to see a huge upgrade.

Are all radiator hoses made equal? Going with the dukie564 method of replace and upgrade for the radiator hoses and was wondering if there exists a "better" upper and lower rad hose material or maker?

Harness is good.

I am not saying we don't get fog in my area but it seems to be pretty rare around my area. But I know what you mean. I won't drive in thick fog. Too much risk.

I just (today) bought the above vehicle and want to add a hitch for a boat. I looked at the radiator and there is an extra cooling fin unit on the front of the large radiator. Is that the extra trans cooler needed for towing?
Thanks,
Eric

that or it is more likely the condenser for your AC system.
