I love me some Rock Auto. Up here buying parts in retail stores isn't an option if you have less than a six-figure income.
Only customer service experience I've had is I was sent the wrong wiper blades once - the complaint form was very well thought out and straightforward, they just sent me new ones.
I would recommend exercising caution with anything requiring a core return because shipping can be such a pain.
Regardless, their catalog and application guide is second to none. I do most of my parts research there for interchange etc.
Nope. At 120k you should run oil. Possible exception is if someone ran sand through it.
Check manifold for cracks. Track down the source of the noise. A lot of people think they have piston slap or blown lifters when it's really a cracked flex plate. A chunk of garden hose will go a long way to finding the source - a mechanic's stethescope is even better.

So while attempting to remove a lock right locker out of a parts jeep I got I began researching lockers. For the longest time I wanted a selectable (e-locker mostly) in the rear and an auto in the front, this way it would be the "cheapest" and affect my on road driving the least.
Now I'm not so sure of the auto in the front is the best choice. What I'm looking for is something with virtually no difference in handling, noise, etc. while on road in 2wd, and a huge difference off road in 4wd over stock, (here's the kicker) while being relatively easy on the bank account.
I'm not in the market for any lockers now and probably won't be for some time just looking for some input from people with real world experience.

Hey guys, searched the site, know it's here somewhere, but I had no luck.
1999 4.0/auto
I know there's a way to pull the trouble codes without a scanner, anybody know the process?

ZJ V8? If so the spring rate may be harsh in the XJ. Try the following links for leaf springs. Morris4x4 is a forum vendor and offers discounts.

I have the 49 state spec.
Rock Auto has OMIX-ADA, Dorman and ATP so I guess I will do some research first.

If you don't have the 4 O2 sensors and 3 cats, I'm fairly certain you can install an exhaust manifold intended for previous years, with the same fitment as a 1999 (certain manifolds need a little clearance adjusting with the newer intake). The factory setup uses the same header as the 3-cat models, but replaces the cats with a simple Y-pipe. I am not sure if the downpipe that bolts up to the manifold is different.

Best way to fix this? The holes that the two bolts for the trans mount go through are stripped out. Attachment 293679
