I think there were reports during some war times of Jeeps/trucks coming back from the tropics with unexpectedly clean engines.

I had them on the previous jeep, didn't have any issues but I didn't have it long enough to actually use the disconnect feature

Could someone tell me how many bulbs are in a 1994 xj Country gauge cluster? I want to upgrade to LED's, I did my Cobra last night and really happy with it. Thanks

2000 XJ 4.0

I'm replacing my harmonic balancer/ vibration damper and I got the old one out no problem. After doing research about the job I decided to replace the front crank seal too and I am having no luck getting that thing out.

It feels like its made of metal with just a rubber inner lip, is there any chance of that? The seal that I got to replace it certainly isn't, but the one in there is just tough as hell. I have a seal puller that doesn't seem to be helping much... Tried to drill into it but its a funky angle so I'm not having much luck.

I've already mashed the thing up a bit so I can't just install the new balancer. Hoping that I don't need to get a whole new timing cover just to deal with this seal. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I had bulbs to replace a while back ,...they were cheap so I bought 4, 2-packs and it was enough to replace most

Who knows?

Keep in mind this method has worked successfully for decades.....even before wimpy spray bottles were invented.......

And you have 4 liters of combustion chambers and cylinder bores evacuating faster than hell. A 32 ounce cup is nothing.

Another question or two, I'm looking at a ax15 out of a 97 wrangler to either use for parts for my transmission or to swap in place of my current 90 ax15. Both of them are 4x4. I've read that wrangler is at a slightly higher angle angle than mine thus I'd need to modify part of the floorboards for clearance. Can anyone help verify this as well as any other differences there might be? Also should my 231j still bolt up to it just fine or with modification? Again thanks for all the help, I've learned a lot using the all mighty search function.

The wrangler transfer case is clocked up higher than the XJ because it uses a different trans to transfer case adapter.

Alright could i get away with modifying the area where it contacts the floorboards with a bfh? Just wanna make sure I can use the transmission either way when I go buy it.

I've got a 95 XJ country 4.0 4dr 4x4 and its been randomly dying. I'll be driving down the road it loses all power....let it sit a few minutes and it eventually will start again. It's been happening for a few weeks. We tested the battery and the alternator and coming home from testing those it wouldn't start back up. They needed replacing so we replaced those this morning. Test drove it. We think it's good to go. This afternoon driving in a parking lot it loses power and dies. Put it in park ...turn the radio off ...and it cranks right back up. Has anyone had this happen before? The only thing we've done is put a new aftermarket radio in it after Christmas and replace the door speakers in the front. Could a loose or broken wire cause this? Any suggestions please. Thank you in advance.
