Edit: This isn't the place, and I'm not the person to provide details. Suffice to say, that wasn't his first issue with our staff. He was banned because that was the last straw.

I'm gonna be removing my tranny to put another one in. Should I go ahead and replace my freeze plugs while I got the tranny off? My jeep has basically no rust and from the looks of the other freeze plugs, I don't think they are gonna go bad. Hat do you guys think? Thanks

Yes, yes, and yes! Why the hell not? The rear one at the top forced an engine pull for me about a year ago. Go brass now!

Anybody got one of these transmission plate cover things? My tranny doesn't have one and I want to put one on when I go to take it out. I would go to the junkyard but it's an hour away and I'd have to pull a tranny out to get one off. Anybody have one I could buy from them? I just need the larger top half. Thanks.

The previous owner of my '99 XJ installed metal caps on the tire valve stems. I went to check tire pressure today and none of them would budge! Tried gripping the cap and stem with pliers but they would not move. (I did not get too aggressive though, didn't want to wind up with 4 flat tires in the dead of winter!)

Heat is probably not going to be the ticket given there are rubber parts involved. Any ideas how to get these off without destroying the valve stems?

I had the same issue. I couldn't find a way around it (I also tried heat). Ended up needing to get new valve stems.

Try some penetrating oil, if nothing you'll have to get new stems. I work at Discount Tire and those are a PITA.
